I used to put soy sauce on mine(white rice), but the soy sauce they have here in New York is just terrible. I tried hot sauce, but I think I prefer to eat it plain.

Also depends on the type of rice. I prefer medium grain, though most folks here eat long grain.

Dang, I feel ashamed for not mentioning this.  Yeah, curry with tomatoes and onions and maybe some chickpeas.  Or cook up a pot of black beans with onions, finely chopped celery, and cumin and chili powder.  Anything along these lines is fucking delicious with rice, and nutritious too.

Rice with butter.
Fried rice.
Rice with teriyaki sauce.
Rice with chicken.
Rice with teriyaki chicken.
Rice mixed with beans or chili.
Rice mixed with beans or chili and put into a burrito.

All delicious! And all stuff I make on a regular basis.

Pour a gallon of bacon grease on it!

Or try pepper! Lots of pepper!

I'm confused.
You're saying you need MORE than soy sauce?

You Korean Duke?
The church I go to is like 80% Korean/Japanese, so I eat these dishes all the time. Good stuff.

And Renault, you have not lived 'till you have had curry of almost any kind over rice.

Heh, I thought that was obvious. What else do you eat with curry? It's like if someone asked "what do you eat with spaghetti?", nobody's going to answer "tomato sauce".

If you don't know how to do fried rice: Deep fry the rice. Leave overnight in a tub. Refry the next day and consume.

Hmmm, are you supposed to rinse long grain white rice before you cook it in a pot?
Both the sites I looked at say yes, so that's what I was doing...

It depends.  Some rice is meant to be rinsed, other rice isn't (I think because it's been dusted with nutritional supplements so you won't get beriberi or something).  If the package doesn't say anything about rinsing it, rinse it.  Otherwise just follow the directions.

Wait, you're supposed to rinse rice? I never do that. Does it remove the delicious rice mucous? I really hate dry rice.
