The "Casual Gamer" part is completely inacurate... I suggest something like:

I do love the way you've made the menu for DF have five or so pages.  It took me a few reads to realise, a great touch :>

As for colossi, I usually think of them as Pratchett's (or rather; his artist, Kirby's) golems, except bronze.  Otherwise I sometimes think of them as replicas of the Colossus in Rome; a statue of Nero as Apollo, after which the Colosseum was named.

The grinding aspect? If so, replace the fun with gravel.

Gah. This is not what I meant. The casual guy spent as much time in restaurant as the hardcore guy. But the casual games tend to be more of "one more level and I will go to the bed". I wanted to express the fact you start a new level (of the same) again and again. I suck at expressing.

Casual however doesn't really mean grinding.

There are plenty of casual games without a hint of grinding

Just as there are a lot of hardcore games with TONS of grinding... Dwarf Fortress for example includes a LOT of it.

Casuals do not grind. It is impossible, too little time to achieve anything.

I suggest you don't think too much what you build and where. When ever you need something, build it as close as possible to where you need it. that way your fortress will eventually become epic
Because god knows your duke will demand a kitten silo in his office.

I heard of it, but I not played. I simply think grinding + casual gaming does not compute.

Casual: plays for short periods of time,  simple gameplay, skips straight to the fun part.
Hardcore: plays for hours at a time, complex gameplay, you must EARN your fun(which I think makes it better).
DF: play for a period of time determined by your lag, OMGWTFBBQ complex gameplay, you will have Fun.
