Hi everyone, complete newbie to DF and the forums. I'm running Windows 7 at 1024x768 on an old laptop, and attempting to run DF is difficult because the game runs in a higher resolution that extends beyond the edges of my screen. I had no luck using resizing the window or trying to use the right-click dialogues to shrink it, and I've searched this issue already on the forum but everything was way over my head. Could someone explain to me, in baby-talk if necessary, how I can run DF at a lower resolution so that it all fits on my screen (preferably in windowed mode but full-screen is okay too)? Thanks!

Have you tried the mouse wheel?
You can use it to zoom in and out, and that may help with the texts as well.

I think its in the init file. It'll have something about resolution in there. It'll also tell you how to change it.
