Yeah, there are two ENORMOUS elven civ's they populate the top and the right sides.

Another thing about this world, i designed it to be evil, yet there are alot of mirthful, and joyous wilds, and a small region right next to a haunted zone, theres also a giant freshwater lake surrounded by haunted savanna, and evil oceans.

Also, i forgot about the Poll option...

thing is that unless you get a dwarven caravan you don't get any other caravans, so we can't piss off the elves, pick a different dwarf civ that is still alive?

ya it is true, unless you get atleast on dwarven caravan you never get any others (may not even get attacked, due to not being known to the world)  so I vote for regen.

Spring entry log

Granite, 1, 1051. We have arrived at the designated site for our fortress to grow, never thought they would send us to a damned glacier.

Granite, 5, 1051. Damnit, a skeletar polar bear charged at our site, our guard Avuz, was slashed up by the thing. My quick thinking saved us, I ordered a full group charge surrounding it from all sides, somehow the stoneworker managed to wrestle the bear apart while knocked out.

Granite, 19, 1051. I've ordered a shelter constructed for us to hide in, and to get out of the elements. There's snow fucking EVERYWHERE.

Slate, 25, 1051. The stoneworker has healed from his wounds, we have beds for everyone. We have started digging down to find some rock.

Slate, 28, 1051. Well... we had neither a bucket or a source of fresh water, so the stoneworker died of thirst.

Felsite, 17, 1051. We've finally struck rock! and its coal! I've laid out plans for our meeting area.

Hematite, 1, 1051. Summer has arrived, only another month and a half untill suplies come...

Er... you built 7 beds (even though there's no need for such lot so early), but you couldn't spare a single log for bucket and couldn't dig to caverns?  :o

Month and a half? Since when do caravans arrive in mid-summer?

uhm, you'll see when summer's over...

also, there's no water it's a glacier, beds are for happy thoughts, two 'friends' just died, and i'm trying to get to the caverns, mining is very slow...

To get water from caverns you have to dig two 1-tile shafts - one for seeing where caverns are and another right above water there. I doubt that caverns are deeper than 20 z-levels, and even in this worst case you'll have to dig mere 40 tiles.
