Maybe the old hands know what everything on the map is but do you know how long it took me to work out what a volcano looks like on the world map?My first suggestion is that the map has a key placed on it.
It could probably only have the half dozen "most interesting" icons on it and most worlds feature a large either sea or desert area where it would not obscure anything useful.(If it goes in the same space on every map then yeah it will obscure something).Alternatively: some code to generate a key as a seperate exportable bitmap.Second suggestion: it is difficult to automatically search a bitmap for a red ^. Maybe the map could also be exported as a RTF document, which is much more readily searched.Garrie.
