Darts? Nonsense Aztecs, use bolts!

Okay, so I got an idea. Hook a few pressure plates up to a coupla crossbow traps with copper bolts stacks at the end of a hallway. I figure I could make the last few close a flood gate at the end of the hallway. Anyone ever test this or know if it works?

Can you put bolts into a weapon trap? That seems like it'd be more straightforward.

Also, you should have the last few close the floodgate, but open another leading to an even worse death hall.

traps only workj in the sqare of the trap itself.

Has this been proven for distance traps though?
Because doing this manually would suck because, it would involve my labor instead of them suiciding.
