Dammit adventure guy, stop hurting skree!

LOGIC

use

LOGIC.

for LOGIC

you need
INFORMATION.
TOUCH SCREE.

We tried doing that already. Emotions were pure rage, and physically shoot us backwards.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

Sheesh, maybe all of you guys should just pester Retro to start work on SkreeQuest 64 once this story is over, or something.

(which might actually be sort of awesome)

At any rate, I suggested we defend ourselves because it honestly looked like we were about to goddamn die trying to empathize with skree.

I am more than happy to defend my decision if questioned. I really feel it was the right thing for AG to do to avoid death.

Because it kind of looks like you guys are accusing the pro-attackers of trolling or something

You are just so certain about killing off scree!

'oop yup, gotta kill scree, let's do this!'

As I am also very certain he did not want to kill us.
-.-

but fine, we'll grab the sword, stare him in the eye for a heartfelt -nondescript time period-, then leap on him and slay him.

Call out to skree loudly, asking him to remember all the good adventuring times you had together while holding the paper hat over our head.

If skree presses the attack, we have no choice but to fight. I don't like it any more than the rest of you. I really liked skree, I did.

(Also I forgot about this after the end of round 15, I hope that you guys didn't need me, though I would've been against attacking.)

Also put our hat back on.

We've already attacked him. this isn't gonna work.

Skree absolutely was willing to kill us once we activated the music box, probably even before then.

It's called blind rage. Skree is berserk. To expect Skree to suddenly NOT be berserk just for us is quite a bit of wishful thinking. It's not like AG and Skree have been best buddies for life. It's been, what? Less than 24 hours or so in in-game time?

And it's not like we went straight to attacking; we tried to calm Skree down. It didn't work.

If we are physically shoved away from nothing more than a brief emotional link, it's safe to say that the situation is beyond repair.

The large oculoid from before? The one with a quarter of it's eye sliced out, the one surrounded by oculoids, the one that we killed? There's not enough information to correlate that oculoid with Skree. Perhaps that oculoid had lots of time to deal with its situation and calm down. Perhaps the presence of other oculoids helped. We have no way of knowing for sure.

In fact, the only thing that other oculoid gives me hope for is that Skree will be able to take a great deal of punishment and live. That oculoid had a quarter of its eye cut out and it was still alive.

So calm down, it's not the end of the world.

Throw broken bottle at Skree; advance with Stovebrand, slicing at any open squishy bits to drive Skree away.

Then, play FACADE on piano. Then, find Feringus, show Feringus oculoid village.

I'd rather not just assume Feringus is already gone. Making that assumption will just ensure it is true. Let's try to catch up to Feringus and Gentleman while there's still any hope at all.

Throw our broken bottle at Skree's wound.

You try to fend Skree off with the broken Glen Avon bottle. Skree howls in rage as the sharp glass tears into his wound.

Hold the sword between you and Skree, try to edge out of the cavern. Wait for Skree to attack first, slash at his tentacles when he does.
Hold our sword in a guard stance, and advance on Skree, slicing at any opening or squishy target.

You hold the sword before you as you back away from the raging beast. The threat of pain, unfortunate as it is to inflict, ought to keep him at bay long enough for you to escape.

Skree makes another charge at you, and you slash out again. His vision’s got to be getting pretty bad now. Perhaps he’ll lose sight of you.

Keep at it until Skree retreats.

As you begin to pack up your stuff, Skree growls gutterally, preparing for another charge. You think after this cut he ought to properly retreat and you’ll be able to get away safely.

He begins to charge at you again, and you ready Stovebrand.

You slash at his eye to fend him off, but Skree does not recoil this time. He continues rushing, directly onto the sword with a sickening ‘shlunk.’ You stare in horror at your friend, now impaled through the eye.

Skree is still. You risk another touch to see if he is dead.

The frenzied storm is still there… but you are not thrown back this time. Something is behind the maelstrom.

You are forced out of the connection.

Skree is still, hunched and tranquil. The sword remains lodged in his eye.

You embrace him desperately but there is no response. There is no warmth or comfort here. All you hear are the idle scatterings of rain, endlessly beating against the mountainside.
