Just comply. There's no way it will lead to a non-standard game over that easy. We are Adventure Guy! No mount of reprogramming will change that!

Also, tell him about the headless robot we found. It needs maintenance more than we do.

Tell Skree to flee and heroically delay the Gentleman.

Complying couldn't possibly lead to anything good, and the worst possible result of non-compliance is him shutting us down anyways.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ask Skree to flee, then FALCON PUNCH!
Don't obey. Punch him.
Punch the son of a monopoly man in the face.
Tell Skree to flee

You aren’t having any of this macguffin-as-hostage crap. You shout for Skree to run (wiggle?) and start your fist a-swingin’.

Gentleman moves to catch your fist, but momentarily pauses as the fleeing oculoid catches his eye. You seize the gap in his defenses.

whammo

Gentleman hits the far wall headfirst, then falls into the sewage, unconscious. The water medallion goes flying in as well. A panel on Gentleman’s head reveals itself.

That was epic.

Open up the panel.

Place chip inside of you.

Steal his hat and monocle, we need a disguise in case another bot fights us.

find a way to turn off the flow of sewage first. we don't want to go in there unless we really have to.

also, why are we effected by the smell?

Because the robot thing is all in our mind! That, or we have smell receptors and a odour interpretation capacity...

Do we still have our whip? If so, use that to pull him in, then tie him up and remove his memory card.

use your whip to take him closer so you can loot him, but not out completely in case he wakes up.

Open his head and take out all components you can, don't be afraid to damage the rest while doing so.

Take, hat, monocle, moustache, clothing, and anything else that might possibly be of value.

Take his arms and legs, as spare parts.

Submerge him completely in sewage, to hide the evidence.

Edit: oh, and DO UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE PLACE THE CHIP INSIDE YOURSELF UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND THEM BETTER. It might contain parts of his mind and take over us. If we really actually NEED the information to do somehting actually important and urgent that is a last resort.

...Every last bit of that is a bad idea. But then again, ATTACKING HIM WAS A BAD IDEA.

Use the chip, it appears to be just a recorder, if it were actually a personality chip of some sort... well, ours is broken. And yet AG has a personality.

It had a slightly different result each time, and they seem to auto run! It's unlikely to contain the actual full personality of GM, but it might very well contain, say, a forced constraint conditioning us to follow those guidelines, or something ele undesirable and malwareish.
