Right, two of the suggestions were nothing but objections to fighting, without actual countersuggestions. Which would have led to AG standing there and passively dying.

To expand:

There were seven people against fighting and five for. And as two of the seven didn't expand past not wanting to hurt Skree, it made it seem more like five-on-five, and the alternatives generally involved just hoping things would work out without really knowing if they would - ie. hiding on the dock (Could AG get to the dock? Would Skree just leave him alone or try and break it?), showing Skree the eyedol (Would that necessarily do anything? It might, but is it worth taking the time to do so when Skree's on a rampage, not knowing whether the possible effect would even be positive?), wearing him out (Would he get tired at all? Could you dodge something that large and fast enough?), etc.

The pro-attackers had one, singular explanation, and made some rebuttal posts while nobody could really explain why an attempt at self-defense was wrong outside of not wanting to. If the pacifists had been more united in their alternatives, I'd likely have gone that way. But they were spread pretty thin.

Anyhow. Updoot will come later when I'm not en route to class.

It's too late, we've already gone past the point of no return. we've attacked skree. there is nothing we can do to fix this.
