Grr, I must have some sort of curse. Just got the laptop back and the desktop's hard drive went kaput. Not good timing as I'll be out of town for about a week. I'll try to keep you guys posted, and I'm definitely going to start a git repository when I return.  :'(

Hey, just found this script while I was looking to get back into DF and figured that I would try a re-write of my own.
Hope I'm not jumping in on the origianl author's turf too much :S

Im failry seasoned in AHK, and have put around 4 hours into this script so far...here are the results:

Main Menu:


This is currently non-functional in-game, still working on the menus. I have all the menus created, just need to link them, then define their actions.

I have used GDI+ (Wrapped for AHK by Tic on the AHK forums) and RM2module (by Learning one on the AHK forums).

No clue how long this will take to finish up, or what all I need to include, as Im a DF newb, so any ideas would be welcome.

Initially, I will just focus on porting over and fixing any pre-existing features from the original version.

If this mod was released, it would definitely make DF much more accessible. One wouldn't have to invest so much energy in playing and could even play without having that much time to get into the game. :)

Has anyone played Towns lately? That would be an example how some (fairly) accessible controls could take a game like this to a whole new level. :)

I like it very much. It is not nearly as complex as DF (yet) but it's already lots of fun and many things to do and try out. And there's more to come!
But that should stay in the Towns thread, I guess. ;)

I couldn't help but notice that there are no install instruction for this mod, would someone be able to explain how ot install this? because it looks very interesting.

Currently there is no way to use this in the current version (though if you are running 40d then who knows?) so there isn't really a way to install it. As for 40d my best bet would be that it is some sort of a "run DF and then run this" type of program.
