Today I have plunged back into Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Just finished season four. Damn, this show is intense. :o

EDIT: One of the comments suggested that Cavill should also play Drizzt Do'Urden--honestly, fucking amazing idea.
Please no. For however good Cavill might be in the role, I really don't think we need a show (or, heavens forbid, movie) about Mary Sue'Urden.

And that's coming from someone who devoured Salvatore books as a kid.

Yes we do. But he should be played by either Biber of Nicolas Cage.

It does get a bit more serious in later seasons (sometimes unnecessarily so, IMO), but I'm not sure if Yoink meant it like that. Intensely funny, maybe?

TBH I wish the show was going to be "The Adventures of Geralt of Rivia."

The actual overarching plot of the Witcher isn't that interesting to me. Never has been. In W3 when Ciri is in the mix I found myself doing a lot of eyerolling, because it's total Mary Sue land. I'd much rather just watch a season of Geralt roaming the country side killing monsters and beating up assholes. I'll give the first episode a watch though.

Huh. I found Geralt and Ciri's relationship one of the best parts of W3. I suppose you could call Ciri a Mary Sue, but that doesn't make their bond any less heartwarming or emotional for me. I generally liked her as a character too, personality-wise. But fair enough, different things for different people. I suppose I have a soft spot for badass fathers with badass daughters being badass and having a happy, functional relationship. Though the show will no doubt cover less than happy and functional moments in it as well. There's plenty of differences between books and games.

2014 - 2018 seemed to be the era of Father / Daughter games. Having not read the books, Ciri came as a "who the hell are you and why am I supposed to care" moment to me. Different strokes for different folks but I always found myself annoyed by the Ciri side bits in W3.

How so? Granted, I've only seen the first two episodes and thought it was light and funny show.
It is light and funny, for the most part - you still come to care about the characters, though, and when the show does throw out a serious plotline here and there it indeed can get arse-clenchingly intense.
You'll laugh, you'll gasp, you'll cheer, you'll spit your beer.

It doesn't like, force the seriousness down your throat or anything, though. At least not at the point I'm up to so far. It's not like a BoJack Horseman deal where, despite being a brilliant show, it does everything in its power to destroy your mood and leave you feeling all shell-shocked and existential afterwards.
No, on the whole this is definitely fun. But it has its moments.

I hated most of the comic (and the author's work in general, to be honest), but man do I want to see some of the scenes depicted. The hijacked plane scene in particular. It's something special.

I had no idea what it was until I stumbled onto the trailer today. Color me very interested, mostly because the premise is too interesting and fresh in a genre that has gotten so fucking stale over the past decade.

I'm onto episode three of this dark, bizarre show called Flowers, with Julian Barratt of Mighty Boosh fame. It's... certainly interesting! I think I might cringe myself into an early grave at this rate, though.
