Simplify Caravan Pathfinding

(1/3) > >>

Caledonian:
If caravans must appear along different edges of the map, why should their location always be random?  Check along the edges to see if there are any locations that provide a clear path to the fortress, and if there is at least one, spawn the wagons there.Wagon traffic should try to adapt itself to existing road infrastructure, instead of us trying to build roads every which way and completely around the edges of the map.

MuonDecay:
yes

Geofferic:
... yes but only if it makes sense.  The direction from which the caravan has came should play a role as well as the terrain off screen.IE, if the caravan could not physically approach from the east, it should not be able to do so simply because you've got a clear path there.

Jamuk:
This thing will probably come in later when roads appear on the world map.  After a certain amount of time has passed and your fortress grows bigger, maybe they will build a road to the edge of your area, and that will be where you need to make a path to.
