Yea, I noticed :)

You're a lucky bastard, lol. I've been constantly battling darkmatter (even while SITTING IN THE HELM with an officer sitting in captain seat), limbo for weeks at a time (which returns you to homeworld once you're finally free), and my entire crew vanishing suddenly without reason. Thats why I made so many respawn colonies.

You haven't even had one darkmatter or limbo problem since you started have you? Meanwhile during the same time I had 4. :o

I had one instance where I ended up teleported to my empire's capital...  but this was when I was only a few sectors out anyway, and it actually helped me get a better start for some reason that I forget.

Edit: I decided to colonize the habitable zone large moon in my cryozine colony's system (yes, I'm doing this AFTER the cryozine colony has been up and running for quite a while).  Out of the landmasses I could have chosen for this...  I think I chose the worst one.  This thing is SO thick with trees and little else...  it has to be seen to be believed.

The only conclusion Paul is that the game ops are watching this thread and enjoy toying with you ;)

I've been stuck since yesterday in a bugged system where I can't move at all and my ship is jsut randomly turning and warping around.

I can't get out of my console, can't get my crew to do anything. My console doesn't even load up now.

Got Haxus working on it now though. Hopefully I'll be able to move soon :o

He restarted the worker and it seems to have fixed it. I can move again, yay.

If someone happens to check the galaxy map they might find an interesting trio of sector names in the edge of the next arm. Muahahahahahaha.

Epic client side bug:

Malicus came over and checked it out and he didn't see it, so its apparently client side only. Not sure where it came from, I went through a zone shortly thereafter and it went away.

So i tried to play this last night and couldn't work it out.  It's possible that nobody was online at the time, but it kinda looked like that wasn't the case. I spawned as a naked guy with A leather belt and a dagger.  So I walk up to what looks like a character who was standing facing away from me.  He turns and faces me, and appears To have a players name, so i click him from like 30 feet away.  He promptly explodes in gore, despite my only having a small knife, I get a message that i did like 87 damage or something, and there's a wad of meat where a once clothed man was standing. This was a somewhat amusing result, so I went about and eviscerated a few more of what now seemed to me to be npc's.  I then fiddle about with some communication menus and find out there are some soldiers somewhere guarding a missile base, but never work out how to get clothing or a space ship.  At that point I had been wandering for about 45 minutes and it was a bit past bedtime.

Im still pretty curious about this game though. They speak of orbits and customizable spaceships, and
I was kinda wondering how realistic a physics model they have, like is it I'll Newtonian physics with
ballistic arcs and orbits and stuff? Iv found experimentation to somewhat futile, so I thought i'd ask you guy's about that. Also, where can i find some pants already?

The guy you killed was Targoss, who takes the form of the player's race and teaches you some(rather useless) things about the controls and leave a torch. Killing him usually has no reprecussions, although it's usually better to wait until he's done talking before killing him, and in fact, killing him is a source of a free animal carcass(though until you build your first city, animals won't attack you either).

The carcass can be used to make leather, and the leather into leather clothes or textile(which can also be used to make clothes), but you'll need a needle, which can be made from a log(click in hand mode at the base of a tree, though many find it hard to do sometimes). Don't actually have a belt, that's just the picture that tells you those four inventor slots go "on your waist".

As for physics, space rockets have momentum physics, but spaceships(which use a gravity-folding engine) do not.

Newtonian physics have a cameo appearance in the game, but are easily avoidable if you choose so.  Holding down your lateral and vertical stabilizers at the same time in a rocket gives you the ability to hover in place.  That being said you can also turn off your spaceship's drive and experience the ambient gravity, so you can have it both ways.

If you want to get started on building a civilization the best bet is to check out the manual at www.shoresofhazeron.com

also I think that accidentally killing targoss is the first rite of passage for playing this game, which culminates in accidentally ejecting yourself on your first rocket trip.

edit: also, Malicus's ship is currently at 229

Paul, "The Duke?" reported that same thing from last night just now.  He called it "the cube".

Edit: Paul, where do you plan on stopping?

If you didn't hear, I started making The Red Team and The Blue Team.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They're both democracies and I hope to have them starship-capable in nearby systems sometime this weekend.

Was going to stop at 200, but with the rumors of maybe a wipe when the bases get in I might not bother building up again :D

I'm at 206 right now. Haven't been making any progress at all while offline it seems, ship keeps going to 0 speed. Kinda a pain to keep babysitting the ship just to get it to fly.
