Pfft, you call that a horrifying cataclysm?  Cavebrands managed to get all the way down to a single-digit population!

We now meet the criteria.

Diary of Expeditionary Creiydrim Silverycarnage
Granite 1st

Dear Diary,

We have passed the edge of the wood, and soon we will reach our destination.

I told the King we were heading out for the glory of all the Eviscerated Orb, the bratty upstart.  I never expected the Mountainhome to be ruled by some snot barely old enough to lift an axe.  I managed to convince him to give us all the supplies we'd need to escape that wretched place and form a new Kingdom before our former home falls in on itself with incompetence.

The ranger I hired pointed out an excellent spot for us to relocate.  A verdant garden of stone and timber, alive and unspoiled.  The Forests of Leaking.  All we need to eat above, and all the stone we need below.  Well, here we are.

The embark region will be the borderlands of the Forests of Leaking, a haunted mire surrounded by wasteland.  The only source of fresh water will be in the caverns or from small murky pools with their delicious parasites.

This game will be using Flora & Fauna (contained with graphics in the save) for extra plants and animals, and the world was generated with extra forests, double the amount of good and evil regions, and a large number of titans and demons.  Other than all that it should be a typical fun-filled romp through the malignant woods.

The default name for the fortress was pretty sweet,

but the RNG came up with a few other good ones so I put it to vote.

Turns are for one game year, or as long as can be managed up to that point.

Got you down.  What turn would you like, and should I leave your dwarf as a peasant?

I guess 2nd please.

And if we're going that way, being haunted and all, I'll be a swordsdorf.
If we're not starting with soliders, A farmer.  :P

Alright, you're a skilled swordsdwarf with a bronze short sword and a copper shield.  If things don't turn horribly violent there will be time for farming.

I could probably do third. I just have to make sure I don't screw up like I always do.

I'll take fourth, then. And I guess I can take Sigun as a mason/mechanic.

I guess that means number 6 for me.

I'll take up dear ol' "Deler the Death-Dealer" Lórnóm, if'n you don't mind...

Skill points set half and half between Weaponsmith and Armorsmith.  I'll pump out whatever metal items you so desire, and if necessary even man the smelter to get my tradeblood.  If we get an allowance on points, I'd like to have a couple stone blocks brought along, plus a few bars of coke/charcoal and some metal ore (bronze is better than iron for weapons, and steel is mighty expensive unless cooked up on the spot) so that I can start up the smithy process right from the get-go.

Oh, and if at all possible, bring along a few barrels of lye...  Not for me, but for the soap industry we'll have later on.  And believe me, we're going to want a soap industry.

Sign me up at the end of the current list please.   If there is still a dwarf left call him Pisano/Pisana (female) and make him/her a forgedwarf, 1 point in weaponsmith, 2 in armorsmith, 2 in metalcrafting, 2 in blacksmithing, and 2 in forge operator, and 1 point in comedian.

Okay, I think we're all set.  I turned the last dwarf into a proficient miner and engraver.  Fate and the forum have chosen Murdercloisters as the site name.  I'll embark shortly, just have to pick supplies.

edit:  um, how do you delete a poll?   ???
