I caught the entity tag myself, completely missed the description tag thing. Thanks a million.

I have gotten hobbits to place correctly in worldgen. I'd say what it was exactly that was screwing them up, but there were so many typos in their entity file that no one thing was responsible. I guess I shouldn't have been working while watching a movie.

The fix isn't up yet because I'm working on fixing some other things as well, notably ents. Once I've cleaned up the error log a bit, I'll load up the patch.

Edit: Version 0.09.1 Released.

Entirely bugfixes. At least 10 changes to hobbits, as well as stat changes for Ents and Elves that had been incorrect before. (A value that was supposed to read 1000 read 1500 by mistake, which threw the percentiles out of whack.)

Tomorrow, work on ents will continue, and I'll begin the weapon re-write. From here on out, generally expect tweaks on previous changes to be sprinkled throughout.

And, last but not least, I've learned my lesson about testing in the arena AND in worldgen from now on.

Small note: Tobacco is called 'pipeweed' in Tolkien's works.
Actually, Pipeweed was a type of tobacco. They also smoked Old Toby, and a bunch of other stuff as well.

Right now, though, it only exists in the raws.

Edit: Possible (partial) solution to dwarven farming issue- mod certain creature parts to be brewable. I'll probably get it in sometime today, play around with it a bit, and if it works/helps, attach it onto the ent update.

Pipe-weed  Pipe-weed, a herb with sweet-scented flowers, was evidently brought to Middle-earth by the Númenóreans during the Second Age, as Merry speculates in the Prologue,[31] and as suggested by its common name in Gondor: westmansweed.[32] It was known among the Dúnedain as sweet galenas for its fragrance.[31] As the Hobbits' custom of smoking it became more widely known, the habit spread to Dwarves and the Rangers of the North, and the plant became known as Halflings' Leaf.[33]
Pipe-weed was first grown among Hobbits by Tobold Hornblower in Longbottom (a region in the Southfarthing of the Shire). Despite its foreign origins, the Hobbits (possibly those in Bree) were the first to use it for smoking. (As Merry points out, not even the Wizards had thought of that.)[31]   Popular Hobbit-grown varieties include Longbottom Leaf, Old Toby, and   Southern Star; its cultivation became an established industry in the   Southfarthing.
The Wizard Gandalf learned to smoke pipe-weed from the Hobbits. In The Hobbit   he turns smoke-rings into different colours. One palpable description   of the weed's effects is given by Gandalf to fellow wizard Saruman upon a meeting of the White Council:
 "You might find that smoke blown out cleared your mind of shadows   within. Anyway, it gives patience, to listen to error without anger."[33]  Although Saruman initially derided Gandalf for smoking, at some point he took up the habit himself. After the destruction of Isengard, pipe-weed is found among its food stores, but the Hobbits Merry and Pippin fail to realize the sinister implications of the discovery that Saruman has had commerce with the Shire.
The word pipe-weed first appears in the Prologue to The Lord of the Rings   in the section called "Concerning Pipe-weed". Tolkien says the Hobbits   of old "imbibed or inhaled through pipes of clay or wood, the smoke of   the burning leaves of an herb, which they called pipe-weed or leaf, a variety probably of Nicotiana."[31] In the same paragraph, Tolkien as narrator refers to "the tobacco of the Southfarthing." Throughout The Lord of the Rings none of the characters ever uses the word tobacco. The word tobacco is only used in the narrative voice of the books.
For example; in The Two Towers, tobacco   is used once. In the chapter "Flotsam and Jetsam" Tolkien as narrator   says "He produced a small leather bag full of tobacco." Merry is then   quoted saying "we found they were filled with this: as fine a pipe-weed   as you could wish for, and quite unspoilt."[34] Pipe-weed is used 4 times in The Two Towers.[35]
Author T. A. Shippey speculates that Tolkien may have preferred the Old World sound of pipe-weed, because tobacco, an Arawakan name for a New World plant, would be an anachronism, and have a "foreign feel" in the world of elves and trolls.[36]
The Hobbit, which was written before the The Lord of the Rings, uses tobacco exclusively. Pipe-weed does not occur at all.[37]

could put the brains in the feet and make their feet super important....since its what they seem to be known by there legendary feet!  :P

Realistically though....even when wearing armor they didn't wear anything on the feet if i remember correctly. granted the current combat system does not necessarily protect feet (since they are away from most of the action)...although a hobbit in anything other than the smallest mail shirt seems....odd...

They've worn plate on an individual basis. The prob. with playable hobbits is that most of them are very sedentary.

Weapon overhaul has been postponed for now. No reason, just wasn't in the mood. Got Wildmen as a civ now.
(You'll notice the absence of hobbits. I'm not yet sure what did them in, but I'm also not surprised.)

You need hobbits ASAP :).

And here's your ent. It took a while to mod all the things in.

They have ents and entwives. They have leaves and bark of different colors. Male ents grow moss as beards.
They have entwood and bark as tissues, and their heart and brain are made of a sponged entwood (more sap inside).
They have green sap for blood and black sap for pus.

Note that they have CREATURE_CLASS:TREE, it means that they are unaffected by normal syndromes but you can make specific syndromes which target CREATURE_CLASS:TREE to affect ents.

Also they have 12 castes. Male ents are "common" trees and entwives are "fruit" trees.

I won't rule it out. For now, they just use whatever makes the most sense. Ents use Elvish, Hobbits use human, etc.

On a side note: would anyone want to see me replace the background music with something from the LotR films? I'm extremely hesitant about doing it, but if people support it, I'd be willing to budge.

Version 0.10 Released.

Changes:
Introduced a tweaked version of the Ents Deon made for me. Much thanks, brother.
Changed Wildmen from a creature to a Civ so they would siege. I will probably add a roaming version as well in the future.
Gave wildmen clubs, because it seemed appropriate.
Fixed Hobbit Hair/Tissue stuff that was returning an error.
I added a couple tags that should have been on Hobbits all along. They get wiped out less now.
Added a creature "Wild Goblin" To Caverns.... I think. They're weak, but come in large numbers (I think) and can fly (to simulate climbing on walls and stuff.)
I'd have gotten more done, but I was in the car for four and a half hours.  :'(

Edit: Oh, and Deon, I have no idea how to put that tile into the game. At all.

It seems that an ent can only just barely defeat one dwarf. One on one the ent wins but with a whole bunch of broken limbs.

Edit: Also, you can't draft hobbits into the army.

Well if you remove the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag from dwarves I think they have like 2-4 children each time they give birth. And if you get enough mothers up on the pillars you can probably get a good waterfall going.
