With horror I now watch on as the Arpad doom horde is united under one king for the first time in decades. That being said Brittany alone could possibly hold them off since they have so few troops, but I doubt that 10k counts tribal vassals. As you can also see in that screenshot western Europe is a complete and total Karling mess. If the Arpads actually get off their bum before the old king Czak dies than they could do a lot of damage. I might even make their leader lucky so they have a higher chance of doing something.

Edit: I just noticed the Arpad king is Christian, so not as scary as I thought.

Paradox posted this video on the expansion. It is pretty much just a summed-up version of the DLC + patch.

Huh. In my current game as Harald Hardrada, Willy died of illness in a year. And thankfully not before softening up the English army.

Incidentally, as of about 1075 illness has also claimed Robert Guiscard. Does my game not like Normans? Or Anglo-Saxons apparently, since Harold Godwinson died also kicked the bucket, and I swear to have had nothing to do with it.

I'm surprised they picked all loyalists over all malcontents as an achievement.

In conjunction with the new DLC, and as a sequel to their Orchestral House Lords album DLC (I actually really like this), CK2 has released their new Viking Metal album.

I thought I'd pick this game up while it's on sale; is the full package w/ 40+ addons (currently $40) worth it/necessary, or would it be better to get the base game and only some particular DLCs? I'm just a bit leery of paying such a sum if much of the additional content isn't particularly good.

The full package is definitely worth it at $40, trust me. I've spent more than that getting all of the DLC (Old Gods, Republic, Way of Life, etc.) individually, so if you'd get all of them in a package plus more stuff it's definitely worth it.

I'd get them all, really. It really is worth it.

Be aware that the full package doesn't cover the most recent DLC. So Way of life, Charlemagne, Horse Lords, and Conclave aren't included.

Still worth it though.

While I am linking the new DLC, a word of warning on what might be a bug: it seems that if you request to become part of the council to a child liege, you'll lose the 50 prestige but the liege won't be able to respond. I was wondering if I was supposed to get an event confirming that they got the message until it finally happened... in the very first try after he hit adulthood.
