I just came to realize how symbolic my turn is. It's kinda a new beginning. We started out again as seven unskilled miscellaneous dwarves, and it's also the beginning of a new year in RL.

Or maybe it's my sleep deprivation again...

The entire fort's a nightmare, to think of it. Roads made of human flesh, walls of bones, alien geometries, and it's crawling with the undead.
That the inhabitants eat for lunch.

It's where Forgotten Beasts go to die, and even the goblins don't want to go in there. The only immigrants for the entire year had to spend three months in the mud sustaining themselves with nothing but rainwater.
And probably some jerky made out of the aforementioned roads.

You forgot that it's probably one of a few fortresses to nearly kill everyone over a single argument that spiraled into a full-blown succession war.

Well you can't make an omelette without killing almost an entire fort can you?

You know, at this point Failcannon is more undead than the undead outside.

Failcannon has survived near collapse several times over. I think it has been one of the most unsuccessful attempts at being unsuccessful even though it is nowhere near succeeding or succeeding to not succeed. It merely persists proving that not only does it survive, but that it barely survives the whole time.

It's sort of like watching your rich Uncle Charlie balancing on the edge of the cliff. You know your set up to get all the money you could ever want if he falls, but you love that guy and don't want to see him fall. Yet, still he continues to wobble alongside the cliff without giving any sign that he will fall or walk away.

This is dwarf fortress - he'll fall off, climb back up and stand astride the clifftop while commanding his dwarven minions to throw the lever on the magma pumpstack and vent he's had them building while he was climbing.  None shall live atop the cliff, save himself.

Good to see the fort itself isn't dead. Too bad the thread is.

:'( Uncle Charlie! NOOOOOO!

Seriously though, it has only been four days since the overseer last posted. It is a bit quick to say the thread is dead as this thread has gone longer periods of silence.

Sorry that I didn't update, but nothing interesting happened.

The only thing that happened in general was the death of 71% of the fort, and that wasn't really worth mentioning.

I'm estimating this means.... 5 of the 7?

Oooh I hope I died horribly!

I'm betting Darvi accidentally let you out and you slaughtered four of the others.  My money's on me and Dariush surviving as (last i heard) we were off hauling stuff, which would probably put us out of the way of shenanigans going on.
