Awesome.  Clearly, I heard the phrases "quarantined chamber," "stay away," and "no, really, there are like two forgotten beasts in there and they'll totally kill you," and decided that going in there and pissing off said FBs was the only logical course of action.

They weren't so much warnings as dares to go see what was in there

Also... what version did this start in, that Kobolds survived world-gen?
It looks like the world was genned all the way back in 31.03. Holy fuck.
Woah, I think I didn't even know of DF's existance before 31.06 something. The world of Battlefailed has been around longer than I.
I noticed my turn is slowly but surely closing, I hope I get my chance to contribute. I'd like to clean the place a bit.

This pure mountain spring water is indispensable. Literally. I'm out of paper cups.

Hace luck with that. I have currently deactivated all hauling labors for everyone just because there is so much trash, bodies, and actually valuable objects lying around, that with the current dwarfpower it would take several years to clean up the living (as not sealed up) chambers.
And I want to test my monstruous generator design. And finish my personal project. And dariush' ocean driller, too.

In fact, gizogin's incident happened because of a freaky windows-installing accident.

Why not just block-forbid everything? (d->b->f, then use the recticle to make the rectangle encompassing them)

Uh. Actually I did just that. Did you reactivate and then deactivate them again? :)

I was talking about the migrants, but actually, yes, I reactivated furniture hauling (for the windows) and then Gizogin's incident happened. So I turned it off again ._.

And aussie, I don't want to forbid everything because I am not producing anything (save corkscrews) and i'm using the trash that is stirred all around the place to build all my projects, so forbidding it would be a no-no. And looking for the things that i'm actually using would be too much of a hassle (seriously, the fortress main keep is a nightmare) BTW did you knew we had a nice quantum pile of nearly infinite goblin bone blocks sitting next to the (now reconstructed) trade depot? It's the main source of materials for my constructions. And for the materials i don't have, I'm salvaging them from Failcannon unused structures and halls. Recycling is a good thing, people!

oh cool.
I just made a dwarven water reactor that works without water. It's magic.
Did you guys knew that if you submerge a water wheel in a wave it goes on and generates full power? I did not.

Huh?  I swear I tried exactly that in a recent fort and it did NOT work.  Nice.

Sorry, I quoted myself u.u"
Now power is not an issue. I got to +500 urists in less than a month, situated at 15 tiles of the ocean driller. This speeds up my agenda considerably.

One migrant wave per year seems an accurate estimate I guess.

Still, I need the extra hands, indeed.
Project: Screw The Foul Ocean (S.T.F.O.), whose schematics were created by our dear citizen Dariush, it's nearing operational state!

Also: how do I open the outer orthoclase bridges?

I am unable to find the correct lever so I'll do the most sensible thing: pull levers at random until the gates open or there is no more dwarfs remaining (save the ones outside)

YAY GOT THE RIGHT LEVER

We do have two new nameless faces: a high master mason, and a talented medic

Oh, and two kobold ambush squads too. Anyone calling dibs on the 'bolds?

Well, we are losing. To Kobolds with steel weapons... again. Aussie is nowhere to be seen, darvi ran away, Mormota is busy elsewhere and Gizogin's luck is no more. Mekboy, you have an axe. You are our last hope! Nope, you're dead. Darvi, you got cornered at the windmills and just received a serious injury.

Gizogin, I take out my statement. You fought off two 'bolds, and you are pincushioning another one. YOU ARE THE BOSS

And Darvi, a correction: you weren't running away, you were ambushing.. you are turning that swordsbold into paste!

Dariush! I choose you! Help us that they are withdrawing now! Wow. You are wrestling that guy to death, aren't you?

Mormota! Glad to see you! Strike them with you pic.. kung fu skills? Where is your pick? Nice fisticuffs anyway.

Dariush? Did you just bit that kobold's head off?

Darvi? Wow, Darvi, wow

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The danger has passed. Dariush is strangling one of the stragglers, and Darvi is finishing the other. Old Failcannon sure knows how to hold it's own in a gentleman's fight.

I'll make a more elaborate report tomorrow.

Kill the medic first. It's the sensible thing to do.

I'm just imagining Darvi holding a crossbow the size of a small kobold, embedded in the torso of a kobold the size of a small crossbow, and spinning it around. Then lifting it over his head and smashing it into the ground a few times, DoW Warboss style, for good measure..... before shooting it to make sure it's dead.
