Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc. - Yes its been airing again
« on: August 23, 2010, 09:12:28 pm »

This show deserves it own thread, seriously.  This is the best thing Cartoon Network has on its air imho now.

Wiki page can be found here.
Trope page can be found here.

Currently episode 7 just aired today and it was full of hilarity and drama.
Fred actually started having conflicted feelings and Scooby keeps being funny man.

I really hope people keep this thread alive or I will myself, seriously.  This is my favorite western cartoon currently running now.  It's just starting up so I suggest you watch the first few episodes on youtube before it gets out of control.

Okay I'll stop gushing and let other people talk before I butt in some more.

I watched the first episode when that came out and was astounded that it was actually funny for reasons the writers actually intended. I don't watch a lot of western animated stuff, but I ought to keep on with this. I enjoyed that one episode a lot.

Post-to-remember-to-watch

probably a break from the stupid shows on CN.

They need to bring shows like courage the cowardly dog back.

New Fred looks so damn manly. I will watch this with my niece and to hell with the people who say I'm being a child.

Yes, Fred actually looks like the kind of guy you would follow into an abandoned building for now good earthly reason, now.

The ascot is still kinda gay though :P

They need to bring shows like courage the cowardly dog back.

Would you believe this isn't far from?  Like Retro said, the jokes and plots and stuff are funny the way the writers wanted them to be, even if the plots are usually as nonsensical as they ever were.

It's also a glorious new spin on the most tired of tired old franchises.  Velma is a snooty bitch who wants in Shaggy's pants, Shaggy wants same but Scooby keeps blocking him, Scooby is funny when he talks, and he shuts up the rest of the time, Daphne is arguably the most competent "mystery solver" and actually has a personality, and Fred... Oh good God, Fred.  He's batshit crazy and drives a conversion van like nobody's business.  And the every-episode cop is Brock Samson (or David Puddy if you prefer).  I mention that every time, because it never stops being funny.

He makes the ascot incredibly manly. Incredimanly.

You don't know bromance until the Ascot Buddies episode.

I googled "Ascot Buddies" and got a result for "Underground Sex Club". Jesus, man.

Link or it didn't happen.  I see nothing of the kind.

And I just remembered that I missed tonight's episode because I was asleep.  Oh well.

You know, I intend to watch this.

The line-up on CN has gradually been getting better and better lately. I think Adventure Time is a creative, if fucking trippy as hell, experience in imagination! There seems be a spin-off called "Regular Show" that definitely LOOKS promising. And then I hear people talking up a storm about the new Scooby Doo, and I have to wonder if CN has new management or something.

Adventure time is one of my favorite shows as well.

But nothing will scare a normal child more than watching courage the cowrardly dog on a dark night with a thunderstorm outside.
