Cabbage?

In case I was right,

It is thousands of miles long, but grass is taller than it.

The answer was cabbage apparently.

Either a road or the Equator.

You throw away the inside,then cook the inside. After that, you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

Yeah it was Cabbage, sorry was out all day doing shopping... Either way both versions of my Riddle are correct (the second the true one) the first is saying that a Cabbage eats through its roots (foot)...

Answer is maybe Corn, because you throw away the husk and cook the ear of corn, then you munch the outside and throw away the middle part. I don't know their names but I THINK I explained it well...

If my answer was the correct one, please answer the following riddle.

Oft I must strive with wind and wave, battle them both when under the sea.
I feel out the bottom, a Foreign land. In lying still I am strong in the strife;
If I fail in that, they are stronger than I, and wrenching me loose, soon put me to rout.
They wish to capture what I must keep. I can master them both if my grip holds out,
If the rocks bring succour and lend support, strength in the struggle. Ask me my name!

No, not an oyster, I don't think they STRIVE with WIND and WAVE. I don't Think they need rocks to support them much either.
