Schedule switching barracks?
« on: September 13, 2010, 06:40:17 pm »

The way I have my military set up, each squad trains for two months, then stands guard duty for one, then gets a month off.  I was thinking that instead of standing guard duty they could go train in a different barracks during that time, then they would get something useful done instead of standing around picking flies out of their beards for the 99% of the time there are no ambushes or thieves.  But if I change their barracks then they would always stand out there to train, instead of in their Danger Room like I want.  I can't think of any way to say "When you are on Training, go train over there. When you are on guard duty, come train over here." without manually changing their barracks assignment each time.  Any ideas?  Or is this not doable.

Why not just have all of them training at the guard post? If it's because you want them to guard two entrances at the same time you can just split the squad into two, and assign each new squad their own barracks.

The guard post is outside by the front gates and the danger room is inside.  So I'd have to rebuild a danger room outside by the front gates, which could be inconvenient when traders come through. Or anyone else.  Not to mention a pain to have to rebuild.  So I was trying to think of a way that they could at least train while they are standing out by the gates without building a training room out there and having to remember every schedule flip to reassign barracks.

And part of the reason I have them standing outside by the gates every four months is so they don't all get cave adapted and constantly throw up when I send them out to fight.
