Remind me of the time I had to explain to "ecologists" why a nuclear central couldn't possibly explode the same way a bomb does... well, being involved doesn't mean you're informed.

Well, it's perfectly logical.  I mean, you can make fertilizers into bombs, and they just randomly explode if you leave them alone.

Even without exploding, radioactive substances can be deadly. Just look at Schrodinger's hypothetical cat.  ;D

So we're on page 3? (50 posts/page here so I can't tell)

We need a Godwin's Law for Schrödinger's cat....

It may not be a real nuke, but a full-scale blowout would consist of refined uranium VAPORISING THE EFF OUT OF THE REACTOR'S ROOF. Of course the odds of that are in the order of once every 10 million years or less (Nuclear plants are built to, at average 1 lethal incident per 1 million years), but still a cloud of radioactive waste is pretty interesting...

For the umpteenth time: Don't mix your home-made explosives with NI3! (But on all fairness, ANFO, or fertilizer with fuel oil is pretty stable. Stable enough at least for short-term storrage)

We need a Godwin's Law for Schrödinger's cat....

The rule that inevitably, someone can simultaneously be as bad as Hitler and not be as bad as Hitler, but only until you actually question whether they're as bad as Hitler?

Also known as the Law of Quantum Indeterminazi.

I was thinking more along the lines of "In every discussion, Schrödinger's cat will or will not have been mentioned, existing in a quantum indecision state, until someone observes it."

I preferred it when we were talking about tea.

For preference, black, one sugar, and strong enough to take the silver off the spoons.

I don't see how this is a problem.

Speaking of which, I can easily see elves getting blue skin over a few centuries.

It's a good thing we don't have any spoons left, then.

Weirdly enough, all my favourite beverages are drunk pitch black and don't appeal to most people I know at college.
Black leaf tea, espresso coffee and stout, all preferably strong and bitter.

Mmm, espresso coffee. I prefer a Cafe Americano over straight espresso however. You know that was invented when Americans in Italy during WWII tried to get coffee but the baristas only made espresso? So I heard.

Americano?
You mean that muddy water in a mug? I prefer it when I can feel my teeth stain as I drink.

Good man. I don't know much about stout, though.
A day without espresso is a day spent in a withdrawalwasted.

Also, Earl Grey with a slice of lemon.
