"hunting Peasant" and "Drunk"
« on: September 22, 2010, 03:14:11 pm »

What in the hell are these migrants? I cant assign them jobs, and they seemingly just stand around all day doing nothing. Any hints on how to make them not be a worthless drain of resources? The best I could do is appoint one of the "hunting Peasant" as sheriff.

They're a bug. According to Mantis, Toady has fixed this for 31.14

Is there anyway to remove them without corrupting my game?

Magma.  Failing that, try any of the other common ways for eliminating unwanted dwarves.

I'm not sure what memory editing software works in this version, but some of them probably have ways to give a chosen dwarf mortal wounds.

Raws wouldn't do anything in this case.  You could modify the properties of dwarves as a race, but these are specific dwarves (that happened to be generated badly).  So, while you could make these dwarves burst into flames, you would also make ALL your dwarves burst into flames.  The stuff that's broken with them is most likely unfixable--but who knows, maybe next version will revert them into peasants that you can use.

Use Dwarf Therapist to force assign them labours.

That makes them useful.

Pretend they're nobility.
That is, murder them violently.
