[ver 33b] Migrants appearing out of nowhere

My civilization might be experimenting with flingify() as migrants appeared to spawn two or three screens away from the edges of the map. The location was centered around here...

Everybody started at that one exact same spot. The wave had the sual variations of jobs, and even a Dungeon Master decided to arrive too.

I've been browsing the map archive's movie section, and I think this is similar to what you're describing?

i got that too on my recent fort, i'm wondering if the size of the map makes any difference, all the 3x3 maps i've done had migrants spawn at the edge, 3x4 (3 down x 4 across) maps do the same, but the few 4x3 (4 down x 3 across) had southern migrants spawn about where they would as if it was a 3 tile down map
