If Iji was made into a movie...
« on: September 29, 2010, 02:20:09 am »

I'm sure you are familiar with the genius game Iji (and if you aren't, become familiar). One night I was struck by a question:

If Iji was made into a movie, what actors should star in it?

My thoughts so far is Johnny Depp as Asha, because you can never go wrong with Johnny Depp playing someone insane, and Sigourney Weaver as Vateilika, because she is just that badass. What are your suggestions? (Budget or the actors being dead/retired is not an issue.)

I've never really played Iji, so my answer remains as always. Samuel L. Jackson in every role.

I'd cast Nicolas Cage as Fu Manchu

Mental debate between pacifism and the need to survive, motherfucker, do you consider it an interesting topic?

Actually, I think the bigger question would be: Would the movie have Pacifist Iji or NotPacifist Iji?

That'd be the issue right there, wouldn't it?

Depp for Asha, for sure. Not Sigourney Weaver as Vateilika, since Vateilika is too young for that. Cast her as Anasakie or Iosa, however.

For some reason I'm picturing Tommy Lee Jones as Tor. I dunno why.

This and "Who'd play Iji?" are the biggest questions...

But anyway, an Iji movie would be awesome :)
(assuming they didn't it right... and there are so many ways hollywood could ruin it...)

I don't know, part of me finds it strange to cast a man as Iji...

I second the strangeness.
Surely there is some decent enough pacifistic and/or violent female actor we could put in for Iji?

Also, who would be Dan? we'd have to pick someone who doesn't mind being a loudspeaker for most of the movie and being a hostage the one scene he is in.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Which it will, because Hollywood runs off tragedy.

And I just thought of something. You know what? I forget the name but Tommy Waseau should play the first boss. What's more alien than that guy? It's like method acting, almost, but he does it constantly by existing. Plus he's annoying and so the audience has no qualms about Iji killing the shit out of him.

Directed by Uwe Boll, or not directed by Uwe Boll?

I also demand that Yukabracea and the peace with Tasen branch play a role in this.
After all, who wants to kill the Almighty Tasen Janitor Hacker?
