A penguin brute, who happens to lack a mouth, has a tail, and "it knows and intones the names of all it encounters".
Big mouthless tailed penguin is watching you.

It's probably made from baby bone, with a handle of baby leather. Probably uses the leg bones wound together for the handle, the pelvis for the handle/pick joint, and the pick is the spine.

But that's all in theory, of course. Not like I've made a pick out of my own 5 month old baby before.

Another notable part is when you get to Seccom Masada-Sensei's spaceship. Masada himself is always at his piano if you leave him alone. Now, in this game, when you kill things, they let out a high-pitched scream (Nightmare Fuel in and of itself), no matter what they are. Killing Masada takes this to a whole new level, not only because he has no mouth and STILL SCREAMS, but because after you kill him, his piano is still playing.
Hm, I've read that just yesterday...

Is it sad that I actually checked its wound status just to make sure it's donkey-like in origin?

On the item is an image of Ngom Fishsin the goblin and a alligator in mountain goat leather. The alligator is striking down Ngom Fishsin. The artwork relates to the killing of the goblin Ngom Fishsin by a alligator in Crueljoy in The Mechanical Spine in the late autumn of 11 during Kaguskok, "The Crazy Assault".

In the first fort I started after DF31 first came out, I happily dug into the caverns after a couple years, caught a bunch of olmmen, and then was promptly slaughtered by an unkillable (bugged) Giant Tick composed of vomit that had poison breath. His movement was reduced to a crawl due to having all red wounds after being attacked by an army of wardogs, the pitiful conscript militia and the woodcutter/axedwarf. One of the nobles hid in his extra large room, and the monster, which apparently had a keen sense of smell, slowly crawled into the door and ever so slowly advanced on the cowering dwarf and killed him. It took several re-embarks of armed dwarves to kill him.

Aw, hell, that image.  I always think of cave spiders as Sicarius Terrosus.

Makes me glad to have those cats wandering around.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

Now that I see that I think of GCS's as the spider that harasses your colony on SimAnt.

My favorite Clowns ever are the squirrel brutes from that thread where the guy colonized hell, they were made of soap and had toxic blood. It's the second quote in Urist Imiknorris' sig.

It's also in somebody else's sig, I forget who's.

They squirrel brutes were not made of soap, however.

Sim Ant really is like an archaic version of Dwarf Fortress...

Yeah, except the red terminator could walk right over that painstakingly erected bottlenecks made of stone, goblins have yet to do this, thankfully. That and the computer version let you body swap with said spider...

That is indeed a good question. I find it ironic that since one of it's associations is revenge, that it was taken down by another BC.
