Golden Rule of the Internet;

Never share images of your SO in a thread regarding kinks.

Nikov's posted a family photo before, no point wondering who is and isn't his wife (well, that is, assuming he only has the one).

Also holy shit that image just moved dude that is freaky

God, you know, short of life changing stuff I'd like to come out about (and yes, it has been saturating the forums these last few days let us move on) there isn't really much that I don't at least have in common with somebody in real life. Hm.

My love of landscapes painted by German Romanticists? Maybe I just don't tell anyone because it's kinda boring to talk about and I know shit all about it except the pictures look nice.

Hey, I also like landscapes painted by German romanticists. Beats the crap out of this modern art shit-on-canvas.

Sadly, shit-on-canvas isn't so much a derogatory term as a technical description.

I mean, I say I love them but really I just went to the European Masters exhibition at the art gallery in Melbourne and saw the room dedicated to Romanticism and went 'hell yeah.' Didn't particularly like the one portrait in the room though, and the majority were landscapes, thus the qualifier.

I also hate Impressionism and Picasso's work. Aw yis, art snob inna house.

Actually, you know what? Reading in a public place. Whenever anyone calls me out on this (which is almost never because it's not like anyone really cares) I shut them up pretty quick but I still can't help but feel self-conscious about it.

e: Oh God, second double post ever!

I feel dirty.

Do you get the thing where if you go more than a few days without any, your ear feels really gunked up?

 I... I have an unhealthy appreciation for the works of Rembrandt. All other artists of that era and style mean nothing to me, but this one dude just resonates.

Dammit, why do I never get any news I want to hear?  You people are burning up my minutes.

Just for clarification, would you say penpals aren't real friends either?  I'm actually curious where that falls with people, since it's pretty rare in the modern world.
I believe you've misunderstood me. It is not that I think you cannot have friends on the internet, but that you cannot have friends in certain corners of it anymore than you can frolic in the waves with sharks while bleeding. All the little bumps and nudges by their snouts aren't really playful.

If I understand you and your analogy now, and I think I do, it's that "friends" on the Internet are inherently less genuine than friends in person, not because they don't exist or anything, but because they don't have your best interests in mind, to put the whole thing in stark terms.  Aside from how hilarious it is to posit that people who interact with you in person are inherently more honestly friendly than people who can only write messages, I think you're forgetting that not everyone online is as spiteful and antagonistic as you admit to taking a guilty pleasure in being.

Buck up friendo, we're all on the level here.
