Are they now your hot pants, or your green jeans?
Heh... it hasn't exactly changed the colour, but I'm kind of digging the waxy patches where it's dried onto the denim.
When I first wiped it on there it looked rather, *ahem* suss, but now it just blends nicely in with the overall griminess. :D
Thats... really gross, Yoink. And probably not healthy.

Don't worry, I don't think there's strains of bacteria that can survive wasabi smudge

Is there a reason why you have to sleep right now or a deadline when you have to be awake?

no, was just going 'bluh' at not falling asleep. I did try again shortly after that last post and did get some sleep in.

New WTF: just ate almost an entire bag of wasabi peas as I walked home.
They weren't that hot, but they were certainly a lot hotter than they were tasty (i.e: not very much at all). Pretty sure I was just eating them because I'd bought them and felt committed to doing so.
If you didn't want or enjoy them, I would have happily taken them off your hands. I love Wasabi Peas, they are better than popcorn to me.

I dont have words for this...

Really.

I found a stall at a local rodeo fair that was selling "magic" mineral crystals with shitty excuses like this. I thought it was hilarious. They were also pretty expensive for their size. They were selling a book explaining everything they believed they did too.
I suspect theres actually a shop in town selling this shit. I havent actually stopped there, maybe i should see if its like a jewelry shop or something else

I have a collection of pretty quartz fragments from hiking.  They feel more "natural" than cut crystals (:  They have the magic power of reminding me of the trails around my old home, and encouraging me to hike more.
I do have a fist-sized, simply-smoothed and cut quartz my mom gave me, but gifts are different.

Castlevania cartoon on Netflix O_O
Id give it a shot, but lets not hold our breath.

My money is on it being mediocre.  I wonder why they are not going to follow the franchise's own stori(es)?

My bet -as somebody who does not believe in actual magic- is that people who would take this seriously also dont go browsing porns and visiting shady websites.

<.<

Unless they're into some gothic undertone-y crap, which is kind of not the same kind of 'magic' as this crystal?  idk the quality of various pagan/wican websites.

My bet -as somebody who does not believe in actual magic- is that people who would take this seriously also dont go browsing porns and visiting shady websites.

First, that belief is absurdly unfounded. There's no functional difference in new-agers and everybody else other than a few beliefs some would find... kooky. THere is absolutely no reason whatsoever to think that their browsing habits are any different from anybody else's.

Second, the "porn site= virus" concept is extremely outdated. Porn sites, even the streaming ones, are usually professionally designed and very safe to use, out of fear of scaring away their dwinding customer base (the ease of pirating video as cut way into porn's profit margin, and they can't risk the damage of bad word-of-mouth, particularly in an age where people aren't nearly so closeted about visiting such sites).

The risky sites to go to nowadays are the amateur-made ones, which tend to have poor security because the folks that put them together don't even know how little they know about such things. Church websites are a very common example, which includes those dedicated to New Age religious and magical concepts. Another major vector is conspiracy-theory websites, as those are absurdly amateurish, and so vulnerable to attack that they are basically putting out a "hack me" sign.

New-Agers visit amateur spiritual sites.
Amateur spiritual sites are targets for malware.
Non New-Agers do not usually visit amateur spiritual sites
There are no functional differences between new-agers and ere'one.

:|

It wasnt an attack on them.

In either case, people who are willing to invest time and monies into blessing their objects are going to typically be more careful with them, whether or not they are ignorant of the underlying causes.  The interest in doing the right thing is there.  But yes, we agree that the quality of the sites they might learn this from are suspect.

Castlevania: Vengeance does sound interesting. It's R-rated, and aimed at adults who like Game of Thrones type stuff. Probably going to have a fair bit of blood and guts, and if that gets attention, it'll only add to the kudos.

you have a pile of studios all dipping their toes into the water of Japanese anime/manga/game adaptations right now. Castlevania TV show, Sword Art Online live action show, the Ghost in the Shell movie.

Here's my theory: most audiences are not huge Marvel / DC nerds, they go to those because those are what's on offer. Also "comic book hero" is a fairly restrictive paradigm. That stuff is getting played out. And "gritty reboots" of what are basically kid's stories isn't working. Who would have thought?

So that's where Japanese pop culture comes in. e.g. manga/anime is far more diverse than Marvel+DC, it has a pre-existing fanbase in the West, but it's fresh and novel to the mainstream US audience too. Basically ... don't be surprised if rehashing Japanese stuff is the next big wave after superheros.

This conversation made me wonder whether Nexus magazine has gone digital or still sells paper copies.
A fun read, that.

Nah, Nexus readers are scared of the computer rays, they only want their magazine in print.

WHEN PI = 4
By Miles Mathis. The value of 3.14… for pi, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, does not apply when circular motion is considered. Instead, the value of 4 is correct in this new model that uses cycloid mathematics and also factors in the time variable.

... HUH? I don't want to know more since it costs money to read that article.

I've noticed these conspiracy types in the past like to reject complex values and assert that universal constants are actually nice round numbers. e.g. NZ UFO nut Bruce Cathie held that the speed of light was 122 (144). 144 of what exactly, he never said.
