I'm getting an odd urge to go play through Dungeons of Dredmor again...

Anyway, the reason I came here. I was reminded of this Shadowrun trailer from 1990. Everything about it. The wardrobe. The crotch-level guns. The crabwalking down alleys. WTF.
I too was thinking of Dredmor, but I *really* liked that Shadowrun video!  Almost missed the late edit.  Gotta love that late 80's aesthetic.

So i made manwich for dinner tonight. But instead of the tomato sauce id normally use, i put in pasta sauce, for like spaghetti. Its just another variety of tomato sauce, right? But no, now my manwich tastes like extra meaty spaghetti sauce without the spaghetti. I have sinned, and its too late to change it now, as the beef is fully cooked and bordering on overdone. And theres 2 pounds of it, because this was our family dinner.

What if i turned the hamburger buns into garlic bread? Maybe that would make for a more paletable sandwhich.

Hmm, the garlic bread sounds good.

Hell, if you have pasta you could just send use it as meat sauce.

Hey, your generation is actually ok. It's just that generation *directly* after mine, which thinks the Pokemon anime, Dragonball* and Power Rangers were the coolest things ever that I abhor. (* and before anyone says "but Dragonball was good" we were already watching Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll and Wicked City and all that other stuff before that arrived. DBZ was a serious step down).

And that is why I will always consider myself as a member of Generation Y, not a Millenial.

If we view a 'generation' as a group sharing similar experiences across a similar period of time, with their birthdates close together, then those 'generations' are coming closer together now than they did before.  This comes from a number of factors, not the least of which is media saturation, values and ideas are being shared right now at rates that would have been impossible for previous generations, and it shows.

I did not grow up with a home computer, let alone regular access to the internet, until I was already in my teens they simply were not prevalent in homes.  And that is just one limited example of dozens that I could easily provide, a very different kind of childhood shaped me than that which is most often attributed to Millenials.

Isn't generation Y just another name for millennials? They both come after X.

Technically, Millennials are now ~ mid 20s to mid 30s, and had the internet really arrive sometime during their teens. If you can't recall when there wasn't an internet, you're Gen-Z. If you were out of college by the time mass-consumer internet was a thing, you're Gen-X.

Depends heavily on who you ask.  I was born in '83, by some charts that puts me in Gen X, but by very literally everything that was put forth prior to the turn of the millennium I was firmly in generation Y.  Then some media assholes decided to lump everyone born from around '80 to 2000 into a single group.  Even though that is clearly really goddamn stupid based on very easy to observe cultural issues.

@Reelya:  Unless you ask a not insignificant number of cultural anthropologists and historians who are now holding that there is a clear distinction between those born before '89 and those after.  Though, again, those numbers vary from source to source, but from every one of those persons says that the cutoff is between '85 and '90.
