It is because "nanny" sounds like "NANI?!" I'd bet.

I struggle to understand how a cartoon Nanny relates to the quote.
It's because nannies are capable of stealthily and instantly teleporting behind you when you least expect it. Obviously.

In other news, I've gotten some more "home exercises" recommended by my psychiatrist: 1) Sit up straight, 2) Go to the pub.

I like this psychiatrist. :3

That said, do you think they actually help?

The exercises or the shrink? The sit up straight thing is because she's a CBT specialist and very much into the body <=> mind relationship. Taking a more assertive, confident pose basically forcing the brain into thinking you have a reason to be sitting in a confident, assertive pose, thus building on self-confidence and a feeling of safety, rather than the fear of being attacked that gets cultivated by more defensive postures.

The pub is just because it's something I want to do (which is a rare thing), I get to be a bit more social and work on my interpersonal interactions, and because actually going to the pub means asserting myself and validating my wants enough to get off my ass and do something for me, despite whatever sharp looks or silent disapproval I might incur from the GF. If she doesn't say anything straight out about not wanting me to go, it's not fair for me to just assume it's not allowed and shrink back into my corner to do nothing again.

As for the shrink herself, she's the only therapist out of 4-5 that I've really shown progress with. Smart lady, something like 30 years experience in the field, takes precisely zero shit, actually listens to and cares about me.

In Norway the rule is that the pharmacist

*Apothecary, surely?

Also it's the same here. Used to be required by law, I think, back when the apothecary was state monopolised. I dunno about now, but given how the service has plummeted since privatisation, I'd say probably not.

A 19-year-old died due to alcohol in the local area and people are so reticent to just blame alcohol that they're harassing the (also drunk idiot teens) who were with them that night over it.

You mentioned an Apothecary. Well, that's an apothecary in 40K.

I'd completely forgotten about a WTF experience a few weeks ago, which I fully intended to mention here... Apparently Kurds are really into Che Guevara. I never knew.

Was talking the dogs in my obligatory Che shirt picked up when I was in Cuba (I'm not gonna pretend I know the guy or follow his ideology, but c'mon... Taking a school trip to Cuba and not buying one of those for horribly inflated tourist prices? Unacceptable), and some guy in a parked car poked his head out the window and commented "Nice shirt!". And of course if anyone makes noise around the dogs, they automatically assume that the person is trying to get their attention, so they immediately went full "LOVE ME! LOVE ME!" mode and I had to stop and chat for a bit.

He talked about what a great man Che was, and how people in his home country really look up to him. I had no idea he was big in Kurdistan.

Also, I ended up buying even more booze that I will severely struggle to actually consume, due to it tasting like spiced ass. Fuck. Liquor store seriously needs to have samplers if they're only going to offer .7l+ bottles for $many...

For some insight just read some background on Che. As a young medical student he was traveling around south america and became appalled at the poverty hunger and disease. Then he went to Guatemala in the 1950s to help out with the newly elected Arbenz administration due to their social reforms.

At this point, the American United Fruit Company orchestrated the invasion of Guatemala with aid from the CIA, with the specific goal of destroying the social reforms, and leading to decades of massacres and oppression. This was back when USA interests actively crushed people under their heels. Seeing that sort of shit go down first hand then rising up to fight against it is normal and commendable human behavior, not "ideologically" driven behavior.

Also note that a few years before the invasion to "stop" Arbenz's crazy social reforms, the American military was using Guatemala as a base to conduct illegal human experimentation where they did things such as deliberately infected orphans with diseases such as syphilis (they were also doing this in the USA to black people). But, they had to stop the crazy Arbenz because his literacy and land reform campaign was clearly bad for people.

The USA created Che. He wouldn't have existed as he did without the stuff they did in Guatemala.

The Che was a bastard that sadly didn't died horribly enough for all the atrocities he made and condoned. I hope he, Fidel and Chavez are sewed together in a human* centipede in hell.

Every time I see one of his shirts I'm happy the idiot became such a capitalist object, I bet that would make him extremely miserable. I'm also sad of the people that is stupid enough to wear such shirts as a "statement ".

*if such pieces of shits can be called humans.

The above two posts are a wonderful example of how where you live and how you interact with history can change your view entirely.

EDIT: I do not mean to offend, Baal.

I strongly suggest dropping the topic. Or at least bring it to some other thread. Dont get this locked.
