Any shoe is better than no shoe when safety is a factor. That said, steel-toed boots exist and can make a large difference.

The ideal result would probably have been someone who is not evil, idiotic or batshit insane. We did not get that from Trump, and we wouldn't from Hillary, but those were not the only possible results.
