(I am assuming at this point they will also have stopped insisting on correct Latin.)

At this point, it's comparing English to Old English.

We have a Pope. As I delineate (draw?), and follow ...

Socialis instrumentis nostris.... I dunno. Socialis is third declension, so it's probably nominative and not dative/ablative as I first thought. Instrumentis (instrument, or as is more likely here 'records' (ie media)) however, is second declension. So it is ablative/dative plural. Nostris then conforms with instrumentis but not socialis.

So it would mean.... social of our media?

I'm not sure, because my Latin skills are best described as low-level intermediate.

Would it perhaps be better to say socialis instrumenta noster?

Then it would be 'we have a Pope. As I delineate, and follow our social media.'

Which still makes no sense, but is hopefully grammatically better? I'd actually appreciate a second opinion.

Oh, also, if you want it to be exclamatory - 'Habemus Papam!' - you might want to use the vocative. So 'Habemus Papa!'

Honestly, that was good fun. Thanks for the practice, even if I got it horribly wrong.

Edit: Wait, no. Socialis is an adjective, not a noun, duh. And noster no longer agrees. So...  'Habemus papa! Sicut commento, et sequere instrumenta socialia nostra'?

....

Ugh, my head is hurting. This is your fault Trekkin :P

Habemus Papam! Sicut commento, et sequere socialis instrumentis nostris!

We have a Pope! Comment, and follow our social media.

That's probably what he meant.

So

Habemus Papa! Scribe, et seque instrumenta socialia nostra                    ...................         maybe.

Scribere is 'to write', not comment, but I doubt that matters. Scribe is hopefully the imperative.

Edit: The Google translate test.

'Karol! Write and follow our media.'

Go home, Google. You're drunk.

Great, now how do I say "Like, comment and subscribe, and hit that notification bell?"

This is very important for my upcoming crusader-themed YouTube channel.

Velut commento et scribentur in libro, et ledo notificatio bell

I don't think commento means what Google wants it to mean.

I'll check tomorrow when I get back to my Latin dictionary.

Edit: Also, never trust Google translate. I don't know what ledo (infinitive ledare) means, because I've not seen it before and I can't really pin it down online other than by google's attestation. However, if ledare means 'to hit' then ledo means 'I hit'.

And I don't think 'bell' itself is Latin either, and notificatio sounds more Spanish than Latin.

Considering Spanish, French, and Italian (more noticeably Italian) all descended fairly directly from Latin,...

Aren't like half of all English words descended from Latin

They're called "Romance languages" for that very reason

I don't know the exact proportion, but English is grammatically Germanic. It has borrowed many Latin words, initially when its speakers were on the continent and then settlement and church-based ones from the Roman invasion and Augustinian mission respectively. After 1066, many, many French words entered common parlance - an inevitable side effect of conquest. There were, themselves, often based on Latin. Later, some .... 18th century? ... scholars attempted to impose Latin diction and vocabulary on English, with very mixed results.

Also, the way French was imposed on top of English follows certain patterns.

For example, the animal words are Saxon but the eating words are just the French animal words. Cow vs Beef, Pig vs Pork, Sheep vs Mutton and so on.

Chickens, being peasant's meat just stayed as chickens.
