I mean.... it probably takes more effort to hire/fly a plane then plan some way to dispense liquid from it without killing everyone underneath you than it takes to just rub some oil on people in line. Which is how I presume it's normally done. I ain't Catholic.

Pretty sure a crop duster plane could easily do it, as that's basically what they're designed for. PRE-EDIT: I just read the article and that's exactly what he used.

Again, I ain't Catholic, but I did think the whole point was to like, make a complex, symbolic ritual out of the process. Purell dispensers are effective and time saving but I'd probably not describe them as having an aura of reverence.

I mean, the form doesn't match church pageantry, no. So far as reverence or holiness goes, that's fairly irrelevant. Something humble and efficient would honestly probably be closer to scripture, really... well, assuming it's not just snake oil horseshit, anyway.

There are two rivers actually,  Jordan, and Euphrates.

Many sought miraculous healing from the waters of the Euphrates, and Jesus was baptised in the Jordan.  (at least that's what I remember... I would have to double check.)

My church’s thing was a fancy little holder attached to a wall within which was a small saturated sponge you touched and blessed yourself.

As for my wtf, I had a headache yesterday and went to lie down at 5.30 in the pm and, while waking up a lot while my SO was active, and expecting to arise around 1, I woke up at 4.30 in the am and decided to continue sleeping until 6.30.

I also had toffee popcorn for the first time since I was wee, so that was good.
