Why the fuck is 'Daddy' a sexual word? Are these people pretending to have incest with their fathers?
this confuses me, too

but only mostly.

Daddy is a common slang for a 'man'.  Daddio is too.  A daddy is also slang for 'husband', who has traditionally been in the role of providing for the family and woman.

pops is also slang for a man in general.

It's also a kink term for a Dom that combines strict enforcement of guidelines with a caring, intimate demeanor. A kind protector with a firm and determined hand. The fact that those characteristics apply to a stereotypical father figure leads to the name "Daddy".

... there's... more to it than that as well, but that's the elevator pitch. Basically.

Some folks do have an incest fetish though.

To be fair, most 4 years would say this simply because they don't understand the implications, not because they have an Oedipus complex.

The girl variant is Elektra complex. Whether or not 4 year old children wanting to marry their parents is either of those complexes, I have no idea, as I know very little about psychology.

I really, really hate how ingrained the ideas of Sigmund Fraud have been ingrained into the popular consciousness, given that they range from "based entirely on a very small subset of upper-class Viennese wives in an era when women were supposed to hate sex" to "pulled entirely out of Freud's ass and backed only by entirely fictitious case studies."

Also, neither Oedipus nor Napoleon had the complex named after them.

I said that wrong. The complexes are named after them, but they didn't have the complex themself. Napoleon wasn't short, and Oedipus didn't know he was banging his mother, and when he found out he did not like that.

I see. It looks like this is even more true for the Elektra complex - from what I can tell, Elektra only murdered her mother.

I remember the plot of Oedipus and just now read about Elektra.

Oedipus killed his father and bed his mother, both unknowingly.
Oedipus' family learned he would do that from a prophecy and cast him out. he left his adoptive family (who did not tell him he was adopted) because of the same prophecy. On his way, he happened to kill his father (who was incognito at the time). Then he came to Thebes, became a local hero and married the queen widow (his mother).
Nobody knew they were related until a Kinslayer curse was revealed to be upon him.

Elektra killed her mother, but she had a legitimate reason.
This reason was that her mother killed her father (something that had to be avenged in ancient Greece) and exiled Elektra.

This is probably the weirdest thing I've managed to stumble upon completely by accident: https://www.deviantart.com/caesarakajohnhobbes

A bout of insomnia lead me to find this guy based on out-of-place reddit posts advertising his "books" and I'm completely baffled. His sci-fi writings (all in broken English) involve fake technical papers (including code and diagrams), schizophrenic email conversations and rambling short stories starring his self-insert.

I'm getting TempleOS vibes, where the guy is clearly smart and educated, but puts tons of effort into creating these bizarre artifacts and seems to lack self-awareness around them.
