The veganism/vegetarianism thread finally imploded. My WTF is that it took so long to happen, considering this is Bay12 where most folks just straight-up refuse to listen to any arguments for animal rights (or environmental conservation!) whatsoever, no matter what amount of logical contortionism they must resort to to try and make it seem like they're in the right. I'm saying this part quietly since it occurs to me it might otherwise look like I'm trying to revive the fighting over here.Clever, see?   
   
   

I just see "Anal Cunt", and keep wanting to substitute "cloaca" instead.  Though, I suppose they could be talking about a very disagreeable woman with severe OCD.

I was kinda surprised that it didn't get more defensive takes from meat-eaters (I say, as a sometimes-meat-eater).  I guess I'm pleasantly surprised that it was more of an argument over details where people weren't understanding each other.  And I'm bringing it back!  I just want things to cool off a bit, and some time to absorb all the nice citations.

It did last surprisingly long before four-or-so pages of heatedness popped up overnight and prompted you to lock the thread, this is true!   
I still doubt I'll participate when it reopens, though. I find myself drawn into enough debates/arguments on the subject that occur organically without wading into a purpose-made thread about it and getting all worked up, y'know? Still interesting to read, anyway.
