I'm emotional today.  Very unusual for me.  I almost always have myself completely under control.  But this morning I was uncharacteristically ragey with my family.  They woke me up an hour earlier than I wanted, but that happens all the time and I don't usually react this way.  Some clutter on the floor was in my way and I intended to just nudge it out of the way with my foot, but kicked it clear across the room instead.

I'm kind of dubious about bottled up emotions being an actual thing that cause problems. Emotions aren't like a liquid or a gas in that they can build up, they're there and then they're gone. Being sad a week ago isn't going to affect your feelings now, unless you're thinking about past sadness, or if the cause of the sadness is still around.

It doesn't just go away either. Prior stress results in future stress, until you find a way to resolve it.
