Screaming "make conversation!" at someone across the table from you is not conductive to actual conversation.

I just woke up I don't want to deal with this. I am not an interesting person with interesting things to talk about, nor would she care about what I do have to talk about.

If it's your mother, which I'm sure it is, then I think she is the one without proper things to talk about.

Branding yourself as not interesting doesn't really help anyone. Interesting is subjective.

Given that I rarely leave the house except for work or school, not enough interesting things happen in my life for me to actually talk about.

Not that she's much better. She sometimes outright refuses to leave the house if you were to ask her to go out somewhere. And then later complain about how she never goes out  :-\

Not that going out with her is any fun, mind you. And in related insanity, we are going out in a bit, and I have to look 'nice', which means a nice collared shirt, perfectly brushed hair, etc. Because we totally have to look nice for the cashiers at Walmart  :-X

She's literally the type of person who puts on fine clothing and make-up when she takes the garbage out to the curb in case someone sees her.
