This was probably already set up before the figures hit the market in the first place. Logically, once they go through their first rotation, some of the more popular models will be brought back.

Store Shelf Space isn't the problem when the item in question isn't being sent out to begin with. You will see 100 Pikachu, Mario, Yoshi and Luigi. But good luck getting a Little Mac, Marth, Pit...

If Nintendo tried to put out the figures for every character at once, most retailers would absolutely refuse to stock them all because it would take up too much space on the shelf. This would result in Nintendo losing a fuckton of money because they'd be stuck with alot of product that they are incapable of selling, causing the entire concept to be scrapped before it killed the company.

Thats why they are coming out in "Waves" yes. BUT they discontinue the older ones so that leaves those that didn't get them when they first came out to miss out BUT as I said last post, you will find plenty of the Mario and Pikachu ones...

They are selling them in "waves", which means that they are only selling a subset at any given time. Not manufacturing outside of the current wave is incredibly logical. As for Mario and Pikachu, those are their "Core", characters that they know are guaranteed to always be in demand as long as anybody's buying the line at all. So you have a core set and a rotating line-up.

I've decided to check what do GPUs cost these days so I go to web shop of one of our cheapest stores selling this kind of things...

*  checking lowest prices first

"Oh hey, 31€, that's not so much... probably pretty mediocre though..."

*  decides to check highest priced ones

"Now let's see... uh... uuuhhhhhhhh... 2500€??... O-ok..."

Granted, it supports 4 displays and from what I can gather it's designed for some serious heavy call of duty work, but dayum, didn't know you can even buy such monsters.
