And no, a lot of people aren't getting banned. You can look at the log. It's pretty short.

You can see a list of any bans (that weren't spambots) in the moderation log- we're seeing a few, but less than 2012.

More or less, yeah. Essentially, a few possibly-manufactured outrages triggered a tantrum spiral. While most people are no long upset about those particular events, as far as I can tell, the spiral is now self-sustaining, having become an argument about itself and what, exactly, the problem with "gaming culture" today is.  Every dwarf person involved has a different unhappy thought that pushed them over the edge nuanced understanding of the issue that, properly articulated, will surely settle the matter once and for all, if only people would actually listen instead of being blinded by their prejudices, selfishness, or other foolishness.

Essentially, the discussion itself, whatever the merits of either side, seems to be far too toxic to actually deal with. I have some fairly strong opinions on the matter, but this isn't the place for them, and it never will be.

EDIT: And it never will be.

PMs may be, however. I'm not interested in them, but I'm sure people around here are.
