From my observations of "hardcore" gamers, hardcore means "has competitive scene XOR is heavily RNG-based".

For me, a casual game is one that is simple to pick up and play for fun, without any unnecessary depth to it. It's really no shame for a game to be casual, but I tend to get bored fast with such games, with a few notable exceptions. It's really a matter of quality versus quantity, for the developer. A casual game appeals to a wider audience, but a hardcore game gets its players deeply invested.

Casual: Super simple to get into.  Tends to be pick up and play.



WTF of the day, there is this uphill road near the center of town... the side going uphill has been totally cleared of snow.  The otherside, going downhill, is still totally covered in dirty snow... still semi-slippery.

I'm mildly surprised that I've never gotten a warning. I have gotten one modmessage, about a situation where I got slightly frustrated with people in the FOTF thread asking "when will X (not in dev) happen?" and answered with just "later" (since the answer is pretty much universally either "within the next few releases" or "no timeline"), but that was explicitly "not a warning".
