Final Fantasy VII is actually really, really good. Like "This changes everything I knew about JRPGs" good.

It may be twenty-year-old news, but my first experience with Final Fantasy VII was Advent Children and watching Dirge of Cerberus LPs. Even as a young weeaboo I knew the FF7 spinoff franchise kinda sucked, and that opinion hasn't changed over time. But FF7 itself gives me the feeling that I got when I played FF4 for the first time.

Yeah, it's almost like they got it right the first time and didn't need to keep on trying to reinvent the wheel since then.

Are there any reissued version that just modernize the graphics and fix the bugs?

Eehh, sorta'. The steam version and stuff that's based off it apparently has some tweaks. Doesn't look like much done in the way of graphics improvement, though.

There was a remake/remaster announced last year as well, but it doesn't appear to be out yet. Also apparently is going to be more remake than remaster so it won't be quite the same.

I was under the impression it did, but not in a usable way.

"Another particle somewhere is known to have an opposite state to this one's" doesn't actually count as information (it's no more information than knowing they were entangled, anyway).
Can you manipulate the state???

You won't be manipulating the state so much as the people though.

Mucking around a bit seeing if I could find anything interesting to play on the kindle, modern app wise. I... had not fully realized how brainfuckingly irritating mobile designers are implementing ads and whatnot these days. Distantly knew it was bad but holy shit. These buggers have somehow managed to outdo porn sites. The kind your browser gets redirected to when you doing something else and then spews popups all over the place, particularly common back before adblock was really a thing.

And there... there's probably a generation of people growing up now that sees this stuff as acceptable and normal, not something to immediately uninstall (and probably boycott the company as well) over. Poor bastards.

The flip side of this is that mobile developers CAN'T get paid the normal way.  You aren't selling a $60 mobile game. You aren't selling a $10 one.  You might by able to sell a $3 one, if you're feeling really extravagant, although <$2 is more plausible.  The reality is that even if you personally choose to eschew FtP, all the apps that make the most money are free.

Good for them, but they're still outperforming 90s/00s era porn webmasters in making their product repulsive. Hopefully with less identity theft but who knows.

Of your particle, yes. That doesn't change the other particle.

A macroscopic analogue is having two boxes, one that's red inside and one that's green inside If you open one and find it's green, you know that the other box has red inside one no matter how far away you are. But you can't use this to communicate by painting your box red because that doesn't influence what the other box looks like.

Admittedly, things are a bit more interesting on quantum level. If you look at something like spin, you actually have more than one bit per qubit and so all you have to do is send a (sublimunal) message to tell the other person how to read and measure it.

(don't quote me on this, though - ask a real physicist)
