Ahhh, that sinking feeling when you go to a game's forum for tech support and realize you are the only person logged in...

EDIT:
Worse yet, I am there for support with the non-Steam version. You know the one that is only delivered via a bittorrent of the demo (unlockable to full game). The torrent that has 3 seeds? Yeah. Oh, and it only updates every 5-6 major versions (as released on Steam). I feel a little second class...

Kenshi

I bought it a long time ago, and now my key won't work. I suspect they swapped DRM to a model that requires internet or something like that... Hopefully I can get help once their forum wakes up, but I'm not holding my breath.

That reminds me, I want a Napoleon Bonaparte body pillow. You know the painting I'm talking about; It's exactly the right dimensions.

So apperantly Kids cartoons being a dirge of quality has an interesting history.

What occurred was that making cartoons for television was very expensive and as such they had to cut costs making, essentially, budget/bad cartoons.

This lack of quality meant that the only ones they could market early cartoons to would be children.

This is why BEFORE the advent of kids cartoons, cartoons were more of a family/adult affair... As well as why cartoons in general were so firmly believed to be for children.

This is THANKFULLY changing and WHAT A COINCIDENCE that it is linked to a huge general increase in cartoon quality, girl cartoons actually having issues more often in general, and complex themes.

Don't get me wrong though. What were two of the more popular shows for ADULTS a little back? Sponge Bob Squarepants and Fineas and Ferb? Adults know how to have fun too.

Hey man, Spongebob is awesome. Probably, I haven't actually seen it for a while...

Its quality went down over time... (then up, then down, then up... then down) It probably isn't worth seeing right now.

I liked the old X-Men cartoon when I finally saw it as an adult. It was exactly the show I wanted as a child (continuing story, actual drama, not just jokes all the time) but I didn't get any channels that had it. I also quite enjoyed Rugrats, Ed Edd n Eddy, CatDog, Spongebob, the Pokemon anime, and of course Avatar: The Last Airbender was a huge deal when it came out.

If anything it seems that kid's programming has gotten worse besides Adventure Time, Steven Universe and Gravity Falls which get all the attention. There's a lot of vaguely-educational CGI made-for-netflix shovelware that solely exists for lazy parents to plop their spawn in front of.

Well... you are right there is a dirge of REALLY terrible shows... But we did get both Avatars, a new Samurai Jack, Bojack...

We are getting Young Justice back

But it is better than the early 2000s... Maybe the issue is the GOOD shows aren't really lasting too long... (How long did the Good Advengers last? or the Good Spider-Man?)

Though you are right the 90s are tough to beat... I mean what was the worst thing Disney had on the air at that time? The Little Mermaid? Yeah... And that is a decent show at worst...

Heck the 80s is tough to beat if you don't swallow the negative press wholesale and treat them PURELY as a toy commercial because... if you actually take time to study up on them, they were actually more than that (Heck one of the writers for GI Joe... was in the military)

The word is "dearth", Neo. "Dirge" means a sad song.

No, they don't, Neo.

Dearth means scarcity. Dirge is, as noted, a song.

Well a "Dirge Of Quality": A sad song of quality
A "Dearth of quality": A absence of quality

Add in that most people typically refer to funeral dirges when they reference a dirge and it gets a second meaning "A death of quality" or "Funeral of quality"
