I can't cook it right. Turns a li'l mushy and mostly stringy.

The worst part is when Gordon Ramsay breaks into the room and swears at you about it.

I enticingly tie the asparagus into a knot using only my tounge. Sometimes when i do it I'm not even looking at myself in the mirror.

That's when this technique should be used.

One of the reasons children sterotypically hate vegetables is because somewhere along the line Americans got the idea that vegetables should be cooked until mushy. Not only does this result in an unpleasant texture, a great many vegetables (particularly that most delectable of foods, the brussels sprout) become extra bitter when cooked that much, and children taste bitterness much more strongly than adults do.

Bitter, you say? :3
I would kinda blame western media for my dislike of veggies when I was young, but that'd be silly (because there were shows that went all BLEGH D: on vegetables, like them cartoons of the 90's? :P), but the bitterness was pretty much an acquired taste. And is how I learned that I had a love of salt.

Agreed! Most vegetables, like the noble asparagus, require right about half the cook time that most people use on it here in the US.

Most green veggies should be cooked only until they turn a darker green and begin to wilt/soften. The more fibrous ones like the noble asparagus should be cooked maybe a minute or two past that time depending on your preference!

That makes a lot of sense. I was never a fan of cooked vegetables when I was younger; even today I generally prefer my veggies raw and as unprepared as possible.

I despise cooked green peppers.

I love them raw.

Green peppers are good raw, or stuffed with cheese and things.

While I understand this to be widely accepted, I simply cannot stand the taste of cooked peppers, even if stuffed with otherwise delicious things like meat or cheese.

The NOBLE ASPARAGUS is delicious in butter+garlic.

Honestly not sure if I've tried asparagus. Does that count as a WTF?
It is tempting to begin listing off my likes and dislikes within the vegetable realm, but that would no doubt be awfully tedious for others. Let me just say that cauliflower is freaking gross and string beans are even worse, but most other vegetables have at least some potential for tastiness.

Heck, I used to hate on pumpkin until I discovered the local Mexican restaurant, which includes it in their burritos along with refried beans. Tomato, too, I never really liked unless it was processed in some way from its natural form, but these days I quite like it! Pumpkin is still gross on its own, though.

Get the fuck away, cauliflower is the supreme vegetable. How can you survive christmas dinner or indeed even a sunday lunch without it?

SUCH AS THE NOBLE ASPARAGUS but for real cauliflower sucks it's like if broccoli was germinated with cardboard.
