Woke up, see that it's bright out, I figure it's going to be a pretty nice day out. Then I look out the window and why is there snow on everything?

New bot is going after Other Games, necroing old posts rather than creating pages of new topics. I wonder if that's going to be harder for Toady to purge or not.

Nah, this one is talking about Star Trek Online.

Yeah, it was pretty specifically aimed at games, which would explain it's targetedness.

out of all the things a bot would promote and spam, why star trek online, and while I'm at it why target the bay12 forums.

STO's come up in OG a good handful of times. Least at some point, maybe still, it was one of the better F2P mmos diddling around. Spam for it in that particular sub-forum isn't actually that badly aimed, save for the whole is-violating-ToS-by-being-spam thing.

Perhaps it's a page rank-pumping operation, like that earlier Life Advice bot probably was. I mean, I'm pretty sure advertisers know that people don't just randomly click on (possibly malicious) links posted by what is quite obviously a spambot.

A few stray thoughts in my head at work somehow evolved into an idea for a complex DF mod. Now I have to dig through the tags to see if it is even possible.

Ahahahaha, that happens to me so fucking often. Usually I either abandon the project or find out that it isn't feasible with the current raw system.

... how the fuck can you describe any part of an Australian Summer as cold? :P
Hey, it's not my fault your ancestors decided to settle someplace wholly unsuited to human physiology!

Further confirmation that Yoink exists outside of time. Ballard would be proud.
I wish. Then perhaps I wouldn't be so freaked out by things like my recent birthday and that "direction and fulfilment" tangent in this thread the other day...
