Ammo questions

  • Can i have ammo not be used up when shot?
  • How does one make 'exploding' ammo?
  • Can I make a weapon use itself as ammo?
  • Can i make a specialized 'quiver' item that only carries a certain ammo class?

Not to my knowledge.

  • How does one make 'exploding' ammo?

You'll need to make it out of a special material that both ignites and boils at body temperature. At least, I think that'll work. Obviously this won't work at all on colder creatures, and it'll need to penetrate (and get embedded) to be affected by the heat.

  • Can I make a weapon use itself as ammo?

No. Weapons and ammo are different item classes. You can create a seperate ammo item which is (mostly) identical to the weapon item and use a reaction to turn one into the other, but that's the best you'll be able to do.

  • Can i make a specialized 'quiver' item that only carries a certain ammo class?

No.

Wait, my exploding ammo explodes after 1 frame, and that's a problem.

You should be looking at a ignite/boil value around 10060 for the exploding stuff. If it's already around that, it might still blow up overland in warm climes.
