I once had a cowbone scepter called "The Crotch of Spite", which then appeared in every friggin engraving or artifact ever made in the fortress, including  several toy trains.

The random name for the group at start I just got is The Soap of Entering. Just dont drop it at the mist generator the saying goes.

I thought it was mildly funny, in a dirty sort of way. Which was then mildly funny again, being a coal bed. Maybe a little too tenuous for everyone's taste though.

Just for comparison, I have a dolomite throne named "Brideclouts the Romantic Pain."
In general, the less you need to explain why the name is noteworthy, the better.

My most recent artifcat was a gneiss door with a lot of fun decorations. My favorite included artwork about Thur Echosears the Taker of Bites the minotaur.
