Morrowind is the one that allowed the death of any NPC, including story-critical ones. You'd get a notice of how you'd doomed the timeline and all that if you did so, though if I recall it was possible to technically finish the game regardless of who one kills (just not easily).

As to recent deaths... I didn't pay attention to the shadow overhead.

What do you mean?  In morrowind it was easy.  You could usually just murder a god and steal his right hand and then go to an elf-turned-eldritch-abomination that was created by a man who animated homunculi and then had crazy mushroom-wizard sex with them.  You get him to turn on its power again, and then youre good to go!  . . . Go get the magical artifacts of power without in-game lore or quests detailing their locations, that is.

Or, you could wizard up so much healing per second that you counteract the  damage per second the reality bending hammer does to you when you touch it without said glove.

I over-expanded, as you do when you eat an ai and live next to Willhelm Von Orange and dont want to raze something he can just engulf with magic financial powers.  This led to me being hopelessly outclassed when I dowed him after he sent a stack up north.  I didnt have the punch to take more than a few cities, and he was several techs ahead of me.

Second attempt at the new end boss introduced in yesterdays 1.0 update, probably best to spoiler it (it's Risk of Rain 2 btw)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit:
Same game, different character (new one), doing a Void run, monsoon difficulty, got in just as it started into medium so kinda doable. What I didn't know that your ult and shift abilites are locked (makes sense in hindsight since they're orbital calldowns and you're literally in another dimension) but even without them, the basic attack and stun are pretty decent, especially with what I have in terms of items. Only thing I'm missing is sustain but I have plenty of time between individual vents to heal up to full.
Anyways, starts out easy with beetles, bastards get 5x lensmakers which gives them some 50% crit chance, they're melee and slow so it's not an issue. Second addition is lemurians, somewhat nasty with their fireballs but my point defense passive is doing its part and I'm not getting hit too much. Then they get the 5x crowbars, which means they're doing waaay more dmg if I'm on nearly full hp, getting a bit hairy now but still, I'm good if I don't get hit. Third enemy add is wisps which have hitscan ranged attacks that aren't that easy to dodge in a small space but they're one-shots so I can keep their numbers low enough for the most part. Then they get leeching seed, not terribly important since it offers little in way of sustain. Fourth enemy add are golems, big, slow, tanky, hit like absolute trucks, things are getting tricky, luckily my secondary attack is a pretty long lasting stun so I can keep them still while I deal with the now hordes of smaller bastards. Third buff they get is one of the bands, forget which, but it's basically a guaranteed big dmg proc if they hit hard enough, and they are hitting hard enough with all the previous buffs.
Still, I manage to beat all 8 of the stages so far, despite it getting a bit close for comfort in the last few. Last stage is always a red item buff which can either be irrelevant or game-ending bad. I get the game ender in the form of Dios friend, which is basically an extra life with a few seconds of dmg immunity after they respawn. So I have to kill everything twice and I can't do it quickly either. Promptly get swarmed by a mass of invulnerable bastards and die :I

My flagship decided to ram the enemy escort carrier head on. I went from 100% hull and nigh-impenetrable shields to about 20% hull and my rear(?!) shield gone, which allowed its fighter group to finish me off. The enemy carrier was seemingly unharmed.

EDIT: Jumped down a hole into a pool of blood, skipping several floors of the dungeon I was in. There was a dragon on the other side. My level 4-5 party... didn't stand a chance.

Second attempt, I try to go around the dragon... and my player-character gets insta-rekt by a trap.

Doing crazy stuff in ksp because I'm bored. Built what I thought would be a nice lander for an eve mission, got there, attempted to enter the atmosphere and promptly burnt Jeb and co to ashes. Turns out Eve doesn't like to be probed.

Third mission of the campaign, to destroy an enemy convoy. Technically, I only need to destroy the main transport, the escort corvettes weren't necessary(but killing enemy ships is still important). The enemy start near the escape point, meaning you have to at least knock out its engines before it can warp out. Spent far too long not even doing any damage because both my ships were firing at an asteroid in between them and the target. I finally move my ships around it and both insist on shooting at two random corvettes rather than the mission critical ship I specifically ordered them to shoot.

Finally got them to shoot at the transport(it was a firing arc issue), and it was swiftly destroyed. There were two escorts left, so I have my frigates give chase. Then for some reason when my ships get into position to fire at the enemy, they insist on turning around and showing their backside(where there are no firing arcs). After dealing with that, and finally killing both corvettes, I exit the mission... only for the game to bug out and not let me close the mission results screen. The last time I closed out - the previous ramming incident in the second campaign mission - I had to do the first mission over again as well.

Got an urge to play Oblivion again.
Hmm... Maybe i'll get some mods this time.
In a hour game was broken so hard i had to reinstall it.
Fuck the mods.
At least the spite and loathing to uzvers on mod pages were amusing.

modding oblivion is an hours long process.  And tbh no mods can come close to recapturing the feel of the game on release.

ummmmm leveling tweaks, magic tweaks, archery tweaks, darker dungeons, to name a few.

Oh boy, Oblivion mods. I remember having over 100GB of mods... when my PC's hard drive only had 360GB total space.

Might've been the reason I never went overboard with Skyrim mods. That and for Special Edition requiring that I hand over my personal details to Bethesda for them to sell in order to use mods. Wait, does Vortex from Nexusmods avoid that mess?

Using ModOrganizer avoids all the messes except the one you make yourself.  :P Can't really say anything about Vortex, i just installed it, looked at loads of seemingly pointless wizzlebizzles for a moment and uninstalled.
And tbh no mods can come close to recapturing the feel of the game on release.
How broken it was?  ;D

Heat Signature

I needed to capture someone before they escaped, and there were 5 people in the room right next to where I started. I took them out, but one got off a shot, so someone called in an alarm. I used my swapper to get out of danger, and closer to the teleporter. Then I hit my 5 charge sidewinder to move me closer. And again. 4 times, no effect. Then the shotgun blast took me down and the target got away.

Also, Blacklisted is a hell of a way to play glory missions with; the only anti-armor weapon I had was the facebreaker. That and not getting the angel ship is a pain.
