After several restarts in several days, I finally get a map where I think I can make it work. Around cycle 13-14, I have a functioning fresh water cistern built, including pumping some water out of the way of my main shaft. I also set up a bottle emptier, to put any mopped spills and the like into the cistern.

It was around this time, the sinks next to the toilets were emptied of polluted water. There hadn't been any Unbeknownst to me, bottle emptiers automatically flag polluted water to be drained into it once it becomes available. I saw it, but not before some got dumped into the reservoir. While it's only a single tile of dirty water in the whole tank of clean water, it's still there, and it still bothers me. It also spread a lot of food poisoning germs into the water, but those will hopefully die off long before that becomes an issue.

Based on what I remember, when every item in a category for stuff like bottle emptiers is checked off, the entire category is considered checked off and anything discovered later in that category will automatically be checked too. I don't recall if polluted water is in the same category as regular, but it would make sense here.

Also, you can mop liquids underwater. It still follows the regular mop rules of a maximum amount you can mop per tile, but if the polluted water is below that amount you can just send a dupe in to mop the polluted water up out of the reservoir and then empty it somewhere else.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Fucking power surge turned off my computer after I won a very involved, very difficult 30+ minute battle in Total War. I was on the loading screen and didn't have a chance to save.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

My head got exploded by a psychic novice. Such a shame too as that character was going quite well I thought for my first run. I had just dealt with some dangerous Slugsnouts and Eyeless Crabs as well.

Shark chomped onto my water purifier. One hit before shaking it off, my spear broke. And I was thirsty and lacking resources to replace both the purifier and spear.

Too many scouts. Too many demoknights. Too many spies. No heavies. No medics. One single engineer.

We stood no chance. We all died in the very first holdout.

Business as usual, i see. Although demoknight infestation is somewhat unusual. Maybe it is the mode. How many years ago, exactly, teams started to consist entirely of hard to learn auxillary classes, no matter the circumstances?  ::)

Ever since the community went batshit insane over the lack of updates. The meta is so solid now that there is no experimentation anymore. Everyone knows the moves now.

Also, it was a community server, with an unoffical gamemode with infinite ammo and metal, the demos charges fill in ten seconds. Heavy just shoots at intersections and doorways, and medic just ubers someone every once in a while. That is why they were left unpicked.

Turned on delayed monster spawns. Discovered that wolves are not counted as monsters(despite being far more dangerous than drifters). Ran into some kind of super-wolf that ran twice as fast as I could move.

Oh, and not five steps from where I respawned, there was another wolf. I just stood there and let death take me.

Played Civilization 1 as Civilization 5 out of habit, died when enemies finally brought enough meat to break trough flimsy defences. Also met eldritch zombie germans in the process.

Slamming my head at trying to capture a pirate base. First several attempts were shut down by the game crashing; presumably a file got messed up since it happened at a specific point, a file verification fixed it. Next, I managed to defeat the defending ships, but I didn't bring any capture boats as they weren't all constructed yet. I had planned to retreat after depleting the defenders, then call up the capturers. Only after backing out do I realize my entire fleet except for my personal ship and one crappy fighter is destroyed. I send in the capture boats and try to get my "fleet" in before them. Two things happened, first my capture boats zoomed past me into the base, second the base regenerated most of its heaviest defenders and all of its morale, wiping out the boarders.

Next attempt, I nearly double the size of my fleet, and double the flotilla of capture ships, and move them in together(capture ships set to escort main fleet so they don't do this again). Two things happened, first a pirate war fleet happened nearby, nearly doubling the size of the defending fleet, second the defenders beelined hard for the capture ships, making it impossible to cover them properly until I can board the base. Like, they flew faster going after them then when they try to gank me personally.

Stableman in inquisitors' fortress was imprisoned for attempting to burn down a stable, and as soon was revealed, assisting a satanic cult. Using an opportunity during his interrogation (Fine, if you think you can do better, smarty-ass, i'll give you five minutes alone) i slipped a dungeon key into his pocket, making an eagerly accepted bargain for information. Game remarked "though you don't see what use it will be to him, he won't be able to escape the fortress, key or no key." Later on, inquisitors went to attack those same cultists, intending to bait them, disguising my master as that stableman, who nobody of cultists have seen or known, and me as sacrificial girl. I should have seen where this was going at this point.  :P After quite torturous road, we arrive at cultists' hideout. Cultist sorcerer dramatically teleports in, bringing the stableman with him, who escaped with sorcerer's help, making it blatantly obvious that master can't be the one he pretends to be. I am left with no choice but to run away to destination unknown, leaving inquisitors to fight a losing battle against forewarned cultists. Game over, man, game over!

Collar

EDIT:
"It was most unwise of you to curse your master, as it is him who is supposed to ensure your survival in tommorow's meatgrinder."
You don't say.  :P But i didn't manage to gather stuff that would let him win, even knowing what do i need, so i could may as well curse him for fun. While Mage's storyline is almost impossible to fail completely, Inquisitor's is pretty tough to not fail fatally.

I was sleeping in the Ald'Ruhn Fighters guild, when an Ash Zombie spawned to attack me. However, it spawned halfway through the door and was stuck. It was also protected from everything except explosions and sometimes Touch spells.

So I teleported out using Almsivi, went back into the Fighter's guild and found out that it was almost equally protected from the other side. The only difference was that it was easier to target with Touch spells.

I only had one touch based damaging spell, and that is my destruction training spell. So I started casting it, dealing miniscule damage each cast. Until at one time, a dude put his leg between me and the Ash Zombie, took 1 point of damage, and started punching me. I was also fined and expelled from fighter's guild. I tried to finish off the Ash Zombie, ran out of magica and left.

I paid the fine, but am still expelled from Fighter's guild and there is a member of them inside their Ald'Ruhn building that is hostile to me.

Re-discovered how hard the Evil Eye is. I know I killed one my first playthrough(and have the achievement for it), but this time, after at least half an hour fighting it, barely took out a fifth of one health bar before I died. One of my pawns getting sent back to the Rift via petrification near the start of the fight did not help.

Gonna back off and rank-up Sorcerer a bit and try to one-shot it with Exequy.
