What is the longest running fort on record? In real time or in game time.

I've done 26 ingame years (duuh) but there's almost certainly someone with more DF mileage

Lessee... my last 40d fort lasted 40 game years and maybe a year and a half of real time, give or take a few months. Flarechannel probably beats both of those, though.

Personally, my longest fort is 51 years old and it's technically still going.

Blockedlance, one of the oldest community forts from 40d, is still going with 75+ years.

Just read the article on time units. But it doesn't say roughly how long a time unit is.
Or to break it down, on average how long is a year in irl time?

403,200 frames, 1200 per day.

And Flarechannel lasted for 271 years.

My record is only something like 30 - 35 years or so wayyyy back in the 2D version.

3d version die of FPS death far too quickly, I don't think I've ever lasted more then 15 or so before everything gets bogged down.

My longest is like seven or eight in game years, I tend to play for a while then decide I want to do something different with my fort or find a different land or whatever and then abandon, I'm impatient in that way

I was thinking of making one and keeping it around and seeing how long it can go.

My longest running was 12 years before I decided to start a new one in .17

then again in .18

Version updates come so often! (Not a complaint.)

I'm sad now. My longest fort was 8 years. And that ended in blood shed and starvation.

Morural fort went on for 40-50 years, didnt?

The longest I've gotten a fort to live has been in the 20 year range. I was shocked to get a message that I had  dogs and one dorf dying of old age.

Mine's roughly 15 years i think, on 31.14, and then .15. It's still actually going, but i haven't gone back to it for a while. Too busy with the awesomeness of 31.18 .
