I've lost my left foot. Found a crutch and placed it in a corresponding (left) hand, but still I can't stand up (and fall over each time I fast-travel). Tried with right hand - nope. I've been dragging that damn useless stick for ages, already an expert crutch-walker, but still have to crawl constantly. Do crutches even work in this version?

If you look at gamelog.txt and search for spine starting from the bottom, the log may show that you were hit there. Likely middle spine. So the crutch works, just not for that character as he/she's lost use of both legs.

I've checked my health screen. Left foot is gone, and nothing more.
No, wait. Left foot is here, it's just shredded. Right foot is gone. So, yeah, the crutch is... fine.
*throughs away the damn useless stick*

Two crutches don't help you walk any better than one.

No they don't, I just tested it in Arena mode. Do I have to provide screenshots?

Crutch walking just lets you crutch-walk faster.

So they crutch hop at a lower speed if both legs are missing or what?  I'm genuinely curious, never found myself in that situation

You can't stand if both legs are useless. No matter how many crutches you have. End of story.

Is there a way to order my companions to attack? They don't seem to attack often.

Can anyone confirm or deny that claim I'd read before about being stunned applying a debuff to your skill rolls? :V

It does.

You can try this sloppy experiment in the arena. Pit two dwarves against one another: Side#1 NPC and Side#2 you.

Defensive stats set to grandmaster, weapon stats set several levels lower. Everyone wears full metal armor. Weapons are wood.

Initially leave combat preferences set to default. Just press the period key to advance the action. Because you're using autoblock and autododge, occasionally an attack will pass through shield or dodge and connect with armor. This is normal because auto does not incur the bonus that manual choices can have. (You'll need to search for the first instance of the word "passive" to get to that point in the transcript)

Now change combat preferences to stand ground stand ground. This way you'll increase your chance of being stunned. Again, press the period key to advance the action. Once you are stunned, notice how much more often Side#1 connects with armor. Greater instances of defensive failure here.

Someone out there likely has interesting numbers on all this, but I can't help with that since I can't count or read or write.
